You would think that there would be plenty of room to fly around up there. Not with pelicans. They simply love to group up tight and "shoulder" their way through the air. Their view of tight formation involves frequent near collisons. Their air speed is considerably lower than the terns and gulls and the legions of "fast" varieties so I could manage to keep a group in the viewfinder as they cruised around.
