Composite: The background of this photo is an infrared image I took with my Canon Rebel XT using a Canon EFS 17-85 lens. The pose is based on a publicity photo of Lon Chaney for a now lost movie "London After Midnight." The face is mine manipulated in Photoshop. It made a journey through many filters to appear as it is now. I entered a square format version of this in a Halloween contest by BenQ.

The lens I had when I got here wasn't wide enough to fit this whole scene in landscape format, so I took two shots, top and bottom, and figured I'd learn how to merge them. It took a few months but I finally worked it out. Turns out I should have taken two vertical shots instead of over under (that's why I lost the sides, the photos didn't line up) but overall I got what I wanted into the shot. :)
Strategically favorable landing site ... good visibility in all directions.

This is part of the kitchen "splashback" panel behind my cooker. A repeating pattern featuring colourful spices HSSC! We chose this design because (a) it's colourful & cooking related and (b) it doesn't show any greasy splashes so rarely needs cleaning 😊
