A little experiment combining an analogue scan converted to B&W with a painting-on-canvas texture using PS layers. It doesn't bear a great deal of resemblance to the sunny scene depicted in the original scan but I like this result.

Composite: The background of this photo is an infrared image I took with my Canon Rebel XT using a Canon EFS 17-85 lens. The pose is based on a publicity photo of Lon Chaney for a now lost movie "London After Midnight." The face is mine manipulated in Photoshop. It made a journey through many filters to appear as it is now. I entered a square format version of this in a Halloween contest by BenQ.

Maybe a cryptic message from Major Tom, he's still out there somewhere.

In my continuing battle with Mr. Cheeky and his squirrel cohorts, I decided to keep him off the feeder by putting a bit of corn in my unused flower boxes. He seems satisfied with this arrangement, but he sits in there and eats until the corn is gone and if one of his furry friends tries to share with him, he throws a hissy fit and goes after the other squirrel in a violent manner. I'm not sure he deserves the corn, but, hey, it keeps him off the feeder.

...although in this case I don't think the square format is ideal. It's more due to the series.

==========================

Unger & Hoffmann 18x24 large format camera, made c.1920; brass Trousse Parisienne (probably DeMaria) combine lens, in 200mm setting, made c.1900; ADOX CHS100 II, expired for some months.

This is Sant Cugat del Racó, west of Navàs, in central Catalonia. Initially known as Sant Cugat de Castelladrall or Sant Cugat Salou (because it was an "alou" or establishment of the monastery of Ripoll). It was not known as "del Racó" until the XVII Century.

Despite being surrounded by only two or three houses among the countryside, it is a spectacular temple, in which Ripoll clearly invested a lot. The current church (the 2nd documented) dates from the XI Century, in Lombard Romanesque style. It has a Greek cross plan with three apses to the east (one disappeared in the 17th century to make way for the sacristy), a steeple bell tower and a magnificent cylindrical dome, unique in Catalonia (all the others of this era are polygonal. The door is from the Gothic period.
