History :

On March 31, 1913, Faisanterie Buitenlust, the forerunner of the current modern animal park Burgers' Zoo, opens its doors to the public for the first time. Since its foundation by Johan Burgers, the first owner and the one who named the animal park in Arnhem, the park has always remained a real family business.

Already from its inception the zoo caused a sensation due to its daring new organisation, which naturally is in the way the animals' accommodations are shaped as well as in the way the experiences for the visitors are created. Burgers' Zoo has a rich history, which has shaped the zoo into the way it is today, and as you can still find it now in the wooded area just north of Arnhem

The largest indoor mangrove in the world

With a surface area of 3,000 square meters, visitors venture into the largest indoor mangrove in the world. From the beach bordering a Belizean town square, the mysterious world that is the mangrove calls. Further inland, the mangrove forest slowly transforms into a tropical dry forest, where hundreds of butterflies in all shapes, sizes, and colours are dancing in the air.

Garmin Connect - How To Create a Course

Thanks for watching this Garmin Tutorial video. This movie will show you how to create a course in Garmin Connect online. We'll then send those workouts to your Garmin device via the Garmin Connect App. I'm using a Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar, but this method works with most Garmin running watches. I have tried is on the Garmin forerunner 735XT, Garmin Fenix 3 and the Garmin Fenix 5X. The menu configuration is slightly different on each watch, but I don't think it's hard to figure it out. The Fenix 3 and the Forerunner do not have detailed maps, but everything else works the same.

Charles H. Beeler, Jr. [1855–1899+] practically grew up at the Johnson TF (forerunner of MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan). From age four, he "hung out" there with his father, an engraver who worked with Edwin Ruthven.¹

So it is not surprising that rights to the types discussed here were assigned to MSJ. In fact, with the exception of two patented faces assigned to the Bruce (New York) and Keystone (Philadelphia) TFs, all of his known designs were properties of MSJ or ATF Philadelphia.

By 1874, reference to type tradenames was prohibited from applications for design patents—they must be identified by matching patent specimens with commercial ones. In 1882–1890, Beeler patented four easily confused MSJ faces: three "shaded" ones featuring horizontal hatching and a fourth one with "ray shading."

For the record, they are shown here with their correct tradenames according to MSJ's 1892 catalog: ²

These mountains are the first you'll see when approaching the Rockies from Calgary.
