October 2, 2021 - Went to Jeff Lane Motor Museum in Nashvile, Tennessee. This place is fantastic! Over 500 vehicles. I've been to one of the best car museums in the U.S., Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. but this one is right up there with it. Specializes in foreign cars and unique vehicles. Half of these I'd never seen or heard of. Well worth going to.

Many of you have strong opinions about art installations in the desert. This night photo shows the work "Foreign Body". This is an art installation of a gigantic female figure created by Varga Weisz through High Desert Test Sites, located in Wonder Valley near Joshua Tree National Park. This sculpture depicts a woman who has been pierced by a tree, representing nature and its slow mutilation by humans. I must say that it often doesn't feel very slow. And yes, the tree looks rather phallic. Perhaps intentionally? HDTS is a non-profit organization that supports immersive experiences and exchanges. I illuminated the scene with a handheld light during this long exposure night photo during a nearly full moon.

Former Iowa Interstate GP38 628, seen here in Weatherford, Oklahoma, is far from home. It is now owned by Grain Belt, a subsidiary of FarmRail.
UP 7322 leads CN U701 (coke loads) across the bridge to McKellar Island in Thunder Bay, Ontario on its way to Thunder Bay Terminals.
UP 7216 heads west on the BNSF Marceline Sub. with the Union Pacific intermodal train operating on BNSF as F-IG4TU01 25. Currently swinging the curve into Rutledge, Mo. with some nice fall color accents.
It was a nice surprise to see a former Southern Pacific GE in the consist as well. There can't be more than 10 GE's still in the SP paint roaming the system.
In the early Fifties, odd little cars began to show up on car lots across North America. Many had been brought to the continent by returning service men and the sports car movement was born.
In the early CSX era, motive power started to show up in locales that they previously did not venture. Case in point-a pair of Seaboard System B36-7s were sitting deep within Chessie System's home at Riverside Shops in Baltimore.

LMS Stanier Pacific No. 46233 'Duchess Of Sutherland' sprints along the East Coast Mainline towards York in feeble winter sunshine on 10 December 2015 with the 'York Yuletide Express' from Norwich - although the first coach carries a 'White Rose' board.
Popped up to Dunstanburgh Castle to give the new Samyang 14mm f2.8 a run out.
I parked at Dunstan Stead and walked towards the castle along the coast line.
I noticed the Halo effect from the moon so popped the camera out to take a couple of shots!
Still need to sort my focusing out as it could have been sharper...
