A MÁV több, különböző típusú modern géppel szándékozik ideiglenesen emelni a szolgáltatási színvonalát. Az egyik típus a 490-es sorozatú, az Akiemtől bérelt, francia eredetű Alsthom BB36000-as, 90-es években gyártott Astride villanymozdony, melyek közül az első, a 003-as a héten kezdte meg az utasforgalmi próbaüzemét. A fenti képen a mai, azaz január 29-ei IC814-es számú, Budapest-Déliből Pécsre tartó Mecsek IC-vel robog Ercsinél.
MÁV is planning to temporarily raise its service standards with several more modern locomotive types. One type is the 490 Astride locomotives leased from Akiem, manufactured by Alsthom as BB36000 in the 1990s. The first of these locomotives, the 003, began its passenger service trial run this week. In the photo above, today, January 29th, train number IC814, running from Budapest-Déli to Pécs near Ercsi.
NS 1209 has just pulled into the siding here at Spanish Lake, MO. on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. with 85 loads of grain from Pleasant Hill, IA. (G-PLHNSL3 27A) The train will meet two before heading into STL.
The train is headed for one of the barge off load facilities along the river front in St. Louis, MO.

After months of debate and internal division, the woodland elves send their most elite contingent of warriors to aid Abraxia in the impending war. It is difficult to point to a singular event that forced their hand. Perhaps it was the increasing presence of orcs at their borders. It may have been the attack on their treehome. It could have been a sign from their stars. One might speculate that all these events played a factor in their ultimate decision. Needless to say, the road to Abraxia is long and arduous. Time will tell if these elves will be able to aid the realm of men before their doom is at hand.

When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that has been in goes out to get those coming in out.
But you have two men telling those that have been in that they are now out and have to go in, they are umpires who are out all the time....
When both sides have been in and out including the not outs.

The one time Cayce, South Carolina got some interesting power, literally foreign power in this case, of course it is foggy that day. By the time it moved forward enough for me to get a good side angle, the fog had mostly lifted and the weather was just drab and dreary. Here, a CSX crew uses Canadian Pacific and leased CEFX power to switch out the south end of Cayce Yard. CP 9523 is a GE AC44CW built in 1995. It appears she has been redesignated as a AC4400CWM and renumbered CP 8067.

The CSX Geometry Train has been no stranger to the NBSR the past few years, with it testing the trackage once a year since 2024. 2 out of those 3 times however have had a locomotive of NBSRs stuck in the front, in my opinion making the train not as interesting to see. This year brought that theme back with NBSR 6406 leading with CSX 466 trailing.
Last year however on June 10th, it was testing the NBM trackage with no NBSR owned or leased locomotive leading, making it a must shoot in my books, so off we went. Here's a shot of CSX 9969, an ex MARC locomotive, leading the geometry train through Enniskillen, New Brunswick, about 30 miles from Saint John.
I believe the NBSR was power short at this time, since they had sent a bunch of 4 axles in for rebuilding in GP31ECOs, meaning they couldn't spare much power, so that might be why they let the CSX unit lead.
Even though the day was mostly cloudy, the colors of the two locomotives on the train greatly stood out.
Here, BNSF 5194 and KCS 4197 leads a Canadian Pacific freight from Bensenville IL as it passes by the Schaumburg station.
For a first, I chased this train from Bensenville to Schaumburg via Illinois 390/Thorndale Ave and overall, it worked pretty well.
A446 crosses the Fox River at Burlington southbound. A44681-11 train details: BNSF SD70ACe 9229, CSXT ES44AC 783; 89 loads and 29 empties; 11,932 tons, 7,069 feet. The signal protects the switch at the south end of the Nestle siding.

UP 7682 brings up the rear of manifest 10K through Cresson, PA as the sun begins to set over the Allegheny Mountains for the evening.
QGRY 6904 is leading SLR 394 which is putting its train together at right as CN 543 with borrowed NS power (NS 3660, NS 4039 & NS 7295) makes a move at CN's Southwark Yard on a snowy afternoon.
What a unique vehicle! I'd never seen anything like it. In the earlier days of modern invention there were lots of ideas about how to do things. This was one of them.

October 2, 2021 - Went to Jeff Lane Motor Museum in Nashvile, Tennessee. This place is fantastic! Over 500 vehicles. I've been to one of the best car museums in the U.S., Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. but this one is right up there with it. Specializes in foreign cars and unique vehicles. Half of these I'd never seen or heard of. Well worth going to.

CSX 3396 pulls a medium-sized CP 250 down the Hinckley Subdivision on this nasty spring-like morning. The sun was playing that one game where it says 'hi' a few minutes before the train makes its appearance, goes away for the entire train and comes back right after :)
Honestly I'd rather had the CP 2292 lead instead.

Gone are the days when Buicks, Chevies, Fords, Oldsmobiles and Chryslers ruled America's roads. Foreign brands increasingly dominate America's auto market, particularly in major urban markets. Of the five cars seen here, only one is an American make (the Lincoln on the far left), then there is one Nissan and three Toyotas.

NS 11V rounds the curve in Derry with the MP 307 signal in the background. This train had one heck of a consist! BNSF and CN power trailed on this colorful train!
KCS 4855 sits at North Dexter getting a crew change as CN 3035 passes beside it, acting as one of the DPUs for the ONUCS-01.
UP 7322 leads CN U701 (coke loads) across the bridge to McKellar Island in Thunder Bay, Ontario on its way to Thunder Bay Terminals.

Στο κόκκινο χρώμα του έρωτα που απλώς περίμενα και όλο περίμενα άνθρωπος να περάσει μα ο κανένας του Οδυσσέα παντού.
Διαφορετικές γυναίκες πέρασαν μα εγώ περίμενα σε εκείνο τον ερυθρό σηματοδότη μήπως και φανεί έστω και τώρα μα κανείς.
Οι δρόμοι ήταν διαφορετικοί εξαρχής και όσο κι αν περίμενα πότε δεν πέρασε από εκεί και όλο στο ρελαντί κρατιόμουν.
Θεατρικές παραστάσεις έδινε αλλού και χέρια σφιχτά δεμένα υπό τον φόβο μήπως το μυστικό φανερωθεί.
Στο τέλος της παράστασης όλοι χειροκροτούν, άλλοι χαμογελούν συγκαταβατικά άλλοι κοροϊδεύουν μα οι περισσότεροι γνωρίζουν.
Ακόμα και τα μικρά παιδιά χαμογελούν και ρόλους παίζουν υποδύοντας τους, προσπαθούν και αυτά στη μίμηση.
Μα τέτοιους θεατρίνους κανείς δεν τους συμπαθεί κατά βάθος της σιωπής μιας και το ψέμα προωθούν ενόψει τους κέρδους.
Κι αν είναι πολύ τότε χαλάλι θα πουν στα πικρόχολα σχόλια μα αληθινά, και ύστερα ο καθένας στο κρεβάτι του.
Και αναρωτιέμαι καμιά φορά εκείνο το κρεβάτι του καθενός τι να περιλαμβάνει στο μενού, πιο το φαγώσιμο ον.
Ποιος να ήταν εκείνος ο κρυφός που ίσως και πληρωτέος κατά κάποιο τρόπο δεσμός ενόψει της μοναξιάς και ύστερα της παραστάσεως.
Να ήταν γυναικός ανδρός ο πόθος, ποιος πραγματικά να ξέρει το μυστικό που ίσως και προδομένο να είναι από καιρό.
Η αλήθεια πάντοτε στα μυστικά φαρμάκια ζει και βασιλεύει και τα πάντα κυριεύει και ρωτά αν ο Μέγας Αλέξανδρος ζει.
Τι να τον θέλει άλλωστε τώρα που πέθανε μιας και για καιρό στα πόδια της τον είχε αναρωτιέμαι η τρελή.
Η απώλεια είναι ένα γεγονός που πάντοτε σε ξυπνά από το λησμονημένο φαράγγι σου, από τα δάση της σιωπής.
Κι αν ξυπνήσεις ποτέ δεν θα ξανά κοιμηθείς σε εκείνο το όνειρο που έχασες και πάντα στα χέρια σου κρατούσες.
