The Model 770 Amphicar (seen on the left side of the photograph above) was named after its ability to achieve speeds of seven knots in the water and 70 mph on land. 3,878 Amphicars were manufactured in Germany from 1961 to 1968. During that time 3,046 were imported into the United States. The Amphicar is rear-engined and uses a 4-cylinder British-built Triumph Herald motor producing 43 hp. All Amphicars are convertibles, offered to civillians in four colors; Beach White, Regatta Red, Lagoon Blue, and Fjord Green (Aqua). Two American Presidents owned Amphicars; Jimmy Carter and Lyndon B. Johnson. President Johnson would invite friends and even foreign dignitaries to his Texas ranch for a joyride in his car.

GWN004, a 3'6" gauge loco (Queensland's gauge) is sitting in the afternoon sun at Paget on the outskirts of Mackay in North Queensland. This loco is now owned and operated by One Rail Australia who have taken over the former operations of Genessee and Wyoming Australia, a successful American shoreline operator.
GWA operated much traffic on the former South Australian Railway network and in particular, what is currently the standard gauge system. These "narrow gauge" locos actually operated out of Whyalla hauling iron ore from the local mines to the steel works. The company decided to get into the coal business in Queensland and the class which is technically the same as the Aurizon 4100 and Pacific National 83 class and built in Queensland in Maryborough have been transferred to the Mackay area (Goonyella system) for this traffic. I am not sure where they are fitting in and what mines or contracts they will service.
The strange thing is, to replace them in Whyalla, several former Queensland Railways/Aurizon 2170 class have been repatriated from South Africa where they went after sale from Queensland a number of years ago. Like members of the same class also repatriated for use by Watco on grain, freight and perhaps in time other freight in Queensland, they have returned home to Australia to serve out their days.

Jahrhunderts vom damaligen Schlossherrn Curt Friedrich Ernst von Watzdorf angelegt. Der Förster Gebbers war der eigentliche Schöpfer des Parkgeländes. Er gab ihm durch umfangreiche Anpflanzungen, insbesondere von Nadelhölzern aus Westeuropa, Amerika, Japan und China, sein heutiges Aussehen.
The 110 hectare castle park with its rich stock of foreign trees has been declared a protected landscape area. Another source distinguishes a 13-hectare core area from a 113-hectare forest park. It was laid out around the middle of the 19th century by Curt Friedrich Ernst von Watzdorf, the lord of the castle at the time. The forester Gebbers was the actual creator of the park area. He gave it its present appearance by extensive plantings, in particular of softwoods from Western Europe, America, Japan and China.
Social distancing
The concept of social distancing has never been foreign to me or my family. Growing up in west Texas away from any city or town has many advantages one main benefit is: I get to spend time with my family! My parents died in a drunk driver related accident many years ago when I was a very young teenager; ever since my only parents have been my uncle E >>>>>E & family/friends>>>> (There’s a reason why most of us call im E) and his wife Yoli. Garden Flower He is my dad’s older brother but to me he’s been simply E.
Last weekend, my cousin West Texas good 'ol boy Todd, Juan Carlos De Los Santos Carduza Juan Carlos and me spent the weekend at E’s place who is trying to recover from a last summer’s accident in the northwest on their way back to Texas. Todd, did all the cooking; he is an excellent cook (Also raised by uncle E and Yoli) JC and me [https://www.flickr.com/photos/cody_kyle_fellers/] did many chores-task to help both out under the supervision of uncle Ricky the youngest of my uncles and only one surviving a large family. Ricky, E and Judy are my roots to this world and very glad they have been here to help several of us through the hardest transition in our life…wanna know what we did every early morning and late in the evening? CSX L306 cuts through the chilly fall air in the village of Emmett, Michigan. Its making use of trackage rights on CN between Port Huron and Flint where it'll terminate at LSRC's McGrew Yard. Going west from Port Huron, this is where the scenery starts to open up and become a bit more varied beyond just trees. The Star of The West Milling Company provides a nice backdrop. While on the hunt for trains I saw this guy leaving the yard and got ahead of him via I-69. For once road construction didn't hinder me!
Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven as the VFW (Vetterans against Foreign Wheels) has commandeered the Market Street Chevron.*

QGRY 6904 is leading SLR 394 which is putting its train together at right as CN 543 with borrowed NS power (NS 3660, NS 4039 & NS 7295) makes a move at CN's Southwark Yard on a snowy afternoon.
What a unique vehicle! I'd never seen anything like it. In the earlier days of modern invention there were lots of ideas about how to do things. This was one of them.

October 2, 2021 - Went to Jeff Lane Motor Museum in Nashvile, Tennessee. This place is fantastic! Over 500 vehicles. I've been to one of the best car museums in the U.S., Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. but this one is right up there with it. Specializes in foreign cars and unique vehicles. Half of these I'd never seen or heard of. Well worth going to.
UP 7682 brings up the rear of manifest 10K through Cresson, PA as the sun begins to set over the Allegheny Mountains for the evening.
Even though the day was mostly cloudy, the colors of the two locomotives on the train greatly stood out.
Here, BNSF 5194 and KCS 4197 leads a Canadian Pacific freight from Bensenville IL as it passes by the Schaumburg station.
For a first, I chased this train from Bensenville to Schaumburg via Illinois 390/Thorndale Ave and overall, it worked pretty well.

Even though it is no longer the nation's official capital, Yangon – formerly Rangoon – remains Myanmar's largest and most commercially important city. Yangon is the country's largest city with a population of nearly six million. This city is a melting pot—a diversity of cultures and communities in terms of people, settlement and religions. Because it serves as the country's main entrance and seaport. Its downtown skyline is dominated by the winking wonder of Shwedagon Paya, a dazzling Buddhist temple that attracts pilgrims from all over the world. The Botataung Pagoda literally "1000 military officers" is a famous pagoda located in downtown near the Yangon river. The 40 meter high pagoda was first built by the Mon around the same time as was Shwedagon Pagoda—according to local belief, over 2500 years ago. The pagoda is hollow within, and houses what is believed to be a sacred hair of Gautama Buddha. In the second World War the pagoda was destroyed during an airforce bombing mission aimed at the nearby docks. Rebuilding started in 1948 following the original design.Since the 2010 elections, Yangon's fortunes have skyrocketed along with its land prices, as both local and foreign investors scrambled to grab a foothold here. At the same time, decades of economic stagnation are only too apparent in the city's slums, shanty housing and creaking, frequently overwhelmed infrastructure – something you'll quickly realise as you crawl into town in a taxi from the airport.
Rangoon was renamed Yangon and is no longer the capital of Myanmar but it still tolerates some of its colonial past and houses magnificent Pagoda's. Botataung pagoda is the lesser known of “the three pagodas” of Yangon. While it may not not have the flare of Shwedagon or the stature of Sule, inside its golden-leafed walls is laid a hair of the Buddha, making it a significant religious site for Buddhists. The hair and other relics can now be seen behind glass around each turn of the golden labyrinth that zig-zags around the inside of the hollow stupa. The golden image of the Buddha “Calling the Earth to witness” is enshrined in a worship hall around the main pagoda. The golden Buddha watches people meditate and take naps.

De haven is een mengelmoes van groot en klein, er zijn immense containerschepen, maar er zijn ook kleine houten bootjes die voor weinig geld te veel mensen naar de overkant brengen.

CSX 3396 pulls a medium-sized CP 250 down the Hinckley Subdivision on this nasty spring-like morning. The sun was playing that one game where it says 'hi' a few minutes before the train makes its appearance, goes away for the entire train and comes back right after :)
Honestly I'd rather had the CP 2292 lead instead.

Already back in Maas for less than 24h and I'm already delighted with my first ever US-Spec 10th gen. Accord! With a parking permit from San Francisco and proudly displaying a USA-PR flag as well :)
The CSX Geometry Train has been no stranger to the NBSR the past few years, with it testing the trackage once a year since 2024. 2 out of those 3 times however have had a locomotive of NBSRs stuck in the front, in my opinion making the train not as interesting to see. This year brought that theme back with NBSR 6406 leading with CSX 466 trailing.
Last year however on June 10th, it was testing the NBM trackage with no NBSR owned or leased locomotive leading, making it a must shoot in my books, so off we went. Here's a shot of CSX 9969, an ex MARC locomotive, leading the geometry train through Enniskillen, New Brunswick, about 30 miles from Saint John.
I believe the NBSR was power short at this time, since they had sent a bunch of 4 axles in for rebuilding in GP31ECOs, meaning they couldn't spare much power, so that might be why they let the CSX unit lead.
