NS 8104 (Lehigh Valley heritage unit) leads CN A490-81 on the CN Leithton Subdivision at West Chicago, Illinois
I typically despise shooting UP leaders on the BNSF and vise-versa, but this AC6000 rebuild was just too interesting to not shoot at least once. I got him hear at West Pioneers Blvd North of Denton.
Even foreigners are caught up with the events, here a couple of kids are dressed in Indian attire walking from the parade
The biggest of our little fury friends to have been on my skin...so far... In case any of you are wondering, yes, it did feel weird. I think this is a wolf spider, please correct me if I'm mistaken. Really starting to appreciate the elegance and magnificence of spiders. No need to be afraid guys, all animals respond to our fear or desire to attack anyways. Love them, they will love you in return. Taken with my phone under the midday sun + a DIY lens.

BNSF 7011 leads intermodal 279 westbound through CP Arthur in Shawsville, VA, as the fog and clouds of the Morning provided a nice blanket from the sun.

October 2, 2021 - Went to Jeff Lane Motor Museum in Nashvile, Tennessee. This place is fantastic! Over 500 vehicles. I've been to one of the best car museums in the U.S., Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. but this one is right up there with it. Specializes in foreign cars and unique vehicles. Half of these I'd never seen or heard of. Well worth going to.
Beginning in late 2021, the rails of the old Western Maryland Connellsville Sub-Division witnessed something they had not seen in over 60 years....a large, coal-burning, articulated steam locomotive. Although not indigenous to this particular line, the ex-Chesapeake & Ohio 2-6-6-2 Locomotive #1309, purchased and restored by the present-day Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, shares a lot in common with the even larger, Western Maryland 4-6-6-4 Challenger locomotives which regularly plied this line in the 1940s and 1950s. Both classes of locomotive were big articulated machines, designed for one thing, moving heavy coal shipments from the mines to the markets.
Now hauling tourist trains from Cumberland to Frostburg, MD, the 1309 is typically carrying the Western Maryland fireball herald these days. But for a few weeks in February of 2023, she was re-lettered in the livery of the C&O for a photo shoot organized by Lerro Photography. She's pictured here at that event, running around the famous Helmstetter's Curve (MP 171.2) in LaVale, MD, with a demonstration coal drag.
BNSF SD75I 279 leads the Empire Builder on the final leg into Chicago.
P42DC 179 stopped loading in Wishram, WA on its westbound trip to Portland, so the SD75I was added and stayed on for the eastbound trip.
While the BNSF Creston Sub was out-of-service, the BNSF ran detours over the ex-CNW mainline. What really made these unique was the FRA waiver to run without cab signals or PTC so the BNSF power could lead.

Aurizon interloper 3215 arrived in SA earlier on May 23, 2026 from NSW and was delivered to the MPC for repairs and crew training.
3215 was built in 1995 as a GE CM30-8 2800 class narrow gauge unit for Queensland Rail.
It was converted to standard gauge by Goninan to operate coal and intermodal freight trains in New South Wales and the broader eastern interstate network.
"Do you know... the giants? The silver one... and the black one.
"The air itself tore open in a cataclysm over the arid lands and the giants fell through. The foreign lands phased the silver one, but they say the black one was prepared, for they took battle right away. They were not satisfied and they would fight to the end.
"They fought through the night. They were large and powerful, destroying the grounds in the wake of their battle. Their might echoed across Maanos.
"...But every battle comes to an end. The black one won at sunrise, but in an act of mercy forgave his opponent. The titans reconciled... and vanished.
"Their fate unknown, they marked the rise of the ones in the shadows. Unheard of, forgotten, solitary. Entities rose far and wide, each seeking their own ends.
"The mad scavenger of the keep: The Leech.
"Cultists dedicated to the realms of the mind: The Dreamers.
"...And the reclusive warriors of the Sanctum: The Divided.
"But... life was in peril. The dead were restless, the living refused to die, the inanimate wouldn't remain unmoving... And when natural order is not contained, wardens will rise..."

So, Monarth is turning 7 years old today. He's been my selfmoc that long and honestly it feels special to upgrade him to new heights for the occasion.
He's gone through so many changes over the years. This marks as his V12, disregarding the spin-offs I've made. It is also his third version of his warden form.
I almost completely overhauled him for this version. Some minor elements have stayed, but his aesthetic is brand new. I'm very satisfied with the inventions I made for the build: 5-digit hands, posable mouth with teeth, etc. I'm happy that I managed to give him sturdy joints, which are very often a point where I fail.
Overall, I'm very happy with his build and look, and I truly wish you enjoy him =]
CSX L306 cuts through the chilly fall air in the village of Emmett, Michigan. Its making use of trackage rights on CN between Port Huron and Flint where it'll terminate at LSRC's McGrew Yard. Going west from Port Huron, this is where the scenery starts to open up and become a bit more varied beyond just trees. The Star of The West Milling Company provides a nice backdrop. While on the hunt for trains I saw this guy leaving the yard and got ahead of him via I-69. For once road construction didn't hinder me!
