the really cool wooded road i like to walk through sometimes. I always seem to get great pictures here.

Background: frozen tundra.

Hudson, Ohio, USA, February 2008.

Photographer: Ralph Mackinder. Image taken in April 2011.

A walk through some rural countryside with fields and forests of Westmeath. I particularly enjoyed the rhododendron blossom, in full bloom.

Since we are not using high end video cameras. it's important to mock up shots to make it look interesting such as this one. leaves put infront of the camera to give more depth of field.

Shutter Speed: 1/20s

F/1.8

ISO: 800

This picture was taken using a slower shutter speed and larger ISO and smaller aperture to allow enough light for the photograph along with not blurring the background. This fulfills the frozen foreground part of the assignment and captures moving fan blades due to motion blur, whilst keeping the stationary background in focus by focusing relative to the background.

This picture fits the foreground requirement because the plant in the foreground is the main thing in focus. For this photos I used an aperture at 3.5 and because of that my shutter speed was faster and my ISO was lower to compensate for the bright light outside.
