The rocks in the foreground on the left are at the toe of a landslip region in the middle of Durlston Bay. The most recent mudslide was in April 2001, and this removed the coast path from the cliff-top. The old coastguard lookout at Peveril Point can be seen in the distance.

The foreground is shown in this image mainly focusing on the rocks, but letting the sea and sunset in the background go slightly blurry.

A nice little stone/rock structure with a small bridge in the background. This was the first picture I took with the much loved 50mm lens.

An exercise in ensuring "foreground interest" was apparent in landscape shots

foreground interest and depth

Foreground was the site of the much feared SS and Gestapo HQ. Hundreds of opponents of Nazi Doctrine were brought here ,tortured and murdered. The building was severely damaged by Allied bombing during 1944-45. It was completely demolished soon after the fall of Berlin to Russian forces The large building in the background was the Luftwaffe HQ. Despite the street being carpet bombed several times the building survived more or less intact to this day.
