Watching every motion in my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean, finally lovers know no shame
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching, I keep waiting, still anticipating love
Never hesitating to become the fated ones
Turning and returning to some secret place to hide
Watching in slow motion as you turn to me and say
My love
Take my breath away
Through the hourglass, I saw you
Each time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed, I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today, I am unafraid
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching every motion in this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion somewhere there's a love in flames
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn my way and say
Take my breath away
My love, take my breath away
My love, take my breath away
My love, take my breath away

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

♥ Happy New Year to everyone, I wish love and light to you all ♥
See my days are cold without you
But I'm hurtin' while I'm with you
And though my heart can't take no more
I keep on running back to you
See my days are cold without you
But I'm hurtin' while I'm with you
And though my heart can't take no more
I keep on running back to you
Baby I don't know why ya treat me so bad
You said you loved me, no one above me
And I was all you had
And though my heart is beating for ya
I can't stop crying
I don't know how
I allow you to treat me this way and still I stay

Foolish February
February is carnival time, but this ends next week, on Ash Wednesday.
Sculpture in the Belvedere Garden in Vienna
I could have been seriously mauled. When visiting national parks remember to keep your distance from wildlife or face the consequences :)
Luckily I escaped with only minor cuts and bruises.
The only interesting part of this image is how close this little one came to me.
I am here to try something in which I believe: that war is useless and foolish, the most beastly test of the hydeocy of the terrestrial breed. (Oriana Fallaci)

Nothing in the world is permanent, and we're foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we're still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it. If change is of the essence of existence one would have thought it only sensible to make it the premise of our philosophy.

…or maybe both. The Wood duck drake seemed unconcerned about old Smiley, the alligator close by. Perhaps he knew her belly was already full or that he could fly off quickly if necessary.

This shot was taken on Silver Glen, just off of Lake George Florida on 07 October, 2025.
Allowing a gator that close to your left back foot is a recipe assured to making it so that for the rest of your life you can only swim in circles to your left. Thus, possibly earning the nickname “NASCAR” from all his turtle friends!
Full Disclaimer: Nickname credit goes out to our oldest son, Jeremy. Many years ago, he was in a pet store and decided to pick up a small white mouse (food for snakes and the like) out of its container. The mouse unexpectantly jumped from his hands, hitting the floor hard. He picked it up and could tell that it was injured.
Instead of putting it back in the destine for death container as most would, he purchased it and all the supplies to nurture it back to health. It apparently sustained a head injury that only allowed it to turn left, thus he named it NASCAR.
NASCAR lived for many years, thus making this Papa very proud of the honesty, respect for life and compassion shown by his son to one of God’s creatures.
Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. I took this on Spring Break this week while out on a short trip to SoCal. We put 500 miles on a rental car as we drove from LAX to Oceansiide, San Diego, and out to Joshua Tree. Of course, we had to make a pilgrimage to Disneyland.

Mute Swon
Huge white bird with long neck, reddish-orange bill, and black face. Adults have a black knob on top of the bill. Immatures are dusky brown with a gray bill. Native to northern Europe and Asia, but introduced in many regions, where it is now common on ponds, lakes, and calm coastal waters. Very aggressive toward native waterfowl. Often seen in pairs or small family groups.

“Co-president Maddy Corson ’26 led the abstractionist painting workshop using colors most associated with period blood, textures and smells. She said the event was held to facilitate engagement between students and for Yalies to focus on their identities as ‘menstruators.’”

You're always brilliant in the morning,
Smoking your cigarettes and talking over coffee
Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar
You'd teach me of honest things,
Things that were daring, things that were clean
Things that knew what an honest dollar did mean
I hid my soiled hands behind my back
Somewhere along the line, I must have gone off track with you
Excuse me, guess I've mistaken you for somebody else,
Somebody who gave a damn,
Somebody more like myself
These foolish games are tearing me
You're tearing me, you're tearing me apart
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart.
Luckily I managed to persuade my son Sebe to be the model for this one.... partly because it was foolish to be standing outside in winter half nekkid in the freezing cold but more because he has the muscles to look good while throwing flour around.
Concept came from this great shot. It's alot harder than I thought to reproduce. Can't imagine doing this as a selfie.....
March Alphabet Madness - F is for Foolishly flinging flour in the freezing cold.
