300 followers! Yaay! Well 308 really, but I didn't post this immediately for a couple of reasons:

1) I kept forgetting

2) I was lazy

3) [Insert Excuse Here]

I honestly never expected to get this far! Thank you guys so much for your support and kind words, it really means a lot to me. You guys and gals are all amazing, I really can't thank you enough! There are so many people who have helped and inspired me, there's no way I can name you all. Suffice to say that you people are awesome! Thanks again, and here's to 300 followers!

This weeks blog post features the burrowing owls of south Florida. Each year I look forward to visiting with them and photographing them as they first emerge from the burrows ... until they finally fledge and find/make new burrows of their own. I always anticipate those months and know the rewards of being patient when around them.

From a very early age, these young owlets begin to show their personalities ... yes, they all have their own ... and develop a hierarchal placement between them. Some are clearly more dominant than others. In this image, you can see that one is clearly more brave, more inquisitive than the other when it comes to observing their outside world. Can you guess which one? :-)

Even when they play there are those who assume a submissive role versus the aggressor. They are, pardon the pun, a real hoot to watch and photograph.

While this year I visited with them less than in years past, I still had many days of shooting images of the various burrows. Rest assured though, that I laughed quite a bit along the way as well. To spend time with these owls instantaneously lifts your spirit and brings lots of joy. They are one of my favorite things about living where I do. I may not have mountains ... but I sure do have these owls. :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by to view and especially for your patience as I tend to taking care of some family matters. I truly appreciate it. Hope that everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

African elephants are members of the genus Loxodonta comprising two living elephant species, the African bush elephant (L. africana) and the smaller African forest elephant (L. cyclotis). Both are social herbivores with grey skin. However, they differ in the size and colour of their tusks as well as the shape and size of their ears and skulls.

Both species are at a pertinent risk of extinction according to the IUCN Red List; as of 2021, the bush elephant is considered endangered while the forest elephant is considered critically endangered. They are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation, along with poaching for the illegal ivory trade in several range countries.

Loxodonta is one of two extant genera in the family Elephantidae. The name refers to the lozenge-shaped enamel of their molar teeth. Fossil remains of Loxodonta species have been found in Africa, spanning from the Late Miocene (from around 7-6 million years ago) onwards. S_10094

Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black-and-white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated. There are three species of zebras: the plains zebra, the mountain zebra and the Grévy's zebra. The plains zebra and the mountain zebra belong to the subgenus Hippotigris, while Grévy's zebra is the sole species of subgenus Dolichohippus. The latter resembles an ass, to which zebras are closely related, while the former two look more horse-like. All three belong to the genus Equus, along with other living equids. The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people. They occur in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains, and coastal hills. Various anthropogenic factors have had a severe impact on zebra populations, in particular hunting for skins and habitat destruction. Grévy's zebra and the mountain zebra are endangered. While plains zebras are much more plentiful, one subspecies, the quagga, became extinct in the late 19th century – though there is currently a plan, called the Quagga Project, that aims to breed zebras that are phenotypically similar to the quagga in a process called breeding back. 100 Followers!!!!! Thank you so so so so much everyone!!!! Honestly it means so much to me that you guys all appreciate my posts and enjoyed them enough to follow me. Thank you for all the lovely comments, favorites, and shoutouts, and just once more, thank you.

Anyway because of 100 followers I wanted to do something special, so I made the first X-Men! That's right the original team that Charles pulled together.

L-R: Jean Grey, Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast.

So this was actually a lot harder than it looks because I couldn't find something I was happy with. But despite Marvel Girl not having a mask, I'm actually very very proud of how these turned out!

So once again thank you so much for 100 followers and I hope you enjoy my X-Men First Class!

Wow, 400 followers already, and I thought it was crazy when FANTXTIK got to 600. XD

Thanks for all your amazing support! I’m so glad you guys are a fan of my posts, however infrequent they are.

I really appreciate your support. I’ve tagged a few people who have especially supportive. If you’re on there, congrats! If I’ve missed you, sorry about that.

Anyways, a big thanks to all of you, and here’s to the next 200!

-Marley Mac-

Edit: Also, this is quite a cool coincidence, but when I posted my 200 Followers picture, I was following exactly 500 people, and now I'm following (nearly) exactly 1000 people. So that's cool.

Thanks for all your support and comments and awards hugs to you all <3

Here is the moc you chose for a revamp.

I'm gonna start the build soon, i'll keep posting other mocs in the meantime.

Thank you so much!

On the picture is my German Whermacht soldiers (no SS, no DAK, no Panzer and no winter stuff). I don't know if Whermacht had any Hetzers or if ony the Panzer had that, but I didn't feel to use one of my StuGs, I've shown them pretty much already ;)

As you've probably noticed I haven't had any time for either build any new Legos or upload stuff I've already built. Been a lot with school and everything around. I haven't had an afternoon of this week. I've had 2 exams and 2 conserts (practice tuesday, consert wednesday-thursday), and I have one more in a few hours. From now on (monday) I won't have much with school and almost no orcestras (no more with two of three this term) so I'll probably have more time for Legos before I go to the US (15th of June).

Ok, so it seems customary on Flickr to celebrate certain follower milestones. I also find that competitions are a good way to build rivalries and friendships amongst the Lego Flickr community. So what better way to celebrate my 100 followers, than hosting a competition!

The competition is open ONLY to the 100 followers I have at time of posting this message.

Why?

Because I want to thank the people that followed me because they enjoyed what I did and not because they wanted a competition prize.

As I'm Black Falcon through and through, it only seems right that my first competition is to Build a Black Falcon Minifig.

Do not fear if you do not have shields and torsos. The Black Falcon crest does not need to be displayed.

Rules:

1. Judging will be on a single focal Minifig, however an entourage to accentuate that Minifig is not only acceptable, but encouraged.

2. Backstories are not required, but will help, because I love a good backstory!

3. Simply because I love Minifigs, each participant can have a maximum of 3 entries.

4. 3rd party accessories allowed.

5. No modding.

6. Valid entries need uploading to this group: www.flickr.com/groups/4022328@N24/ and I need to be tagged in the photo.

7. Closing is midnight on the 8th September 2017. Judging will commence immediately after and a winner will be announced September 12th 2017.

The Prizes:

1st. 10 customised Shields with a design of your choice, or even of your own design applied with waterslide decals built by myself.

2nd. 5 customised Shields with a design of your choice, or even of your own design applied with waterslide decals built by myself.

3rd. Bragging rights.

I don't mind shipping the prizes at cost to myself, anywhere in the world, but if you live somewhere remote where postage is extortionate, you may be asked to contribute.

Thank you all for following me and I hope you have fun!

After the great car show in Sidney today, a walk along the Port Sidney walkway was refreshing.

Last week I hit 5,000 followers on here! It feels like a very big milestone indeed! I had hoped to do a 'Thank you' video but while I have been recovering well this week, I still don't think I'll be getting any proper girl time for another week or two.

I definitely wouldn't be here and doing this without a lot of support, especially those friends who have gifted me lots of nice clothes and other things to wear. I do still feel like I have a lot of progress to make with my look and my confidence to go out and express myself more though. We'll just have to see what the future brings.

Hello everyone. I hit 4,000 followers yesterday and the number just keeps rising. It's been quite a journey over the past (just over) 2 1/2 years, and I hope there's a lot more to come with exploring my girl side and connecting with lovely new friends.
