This tin-plated iron lunch box was patented in 1871 by Charles C. Moore. The box folds in flat on itself. The lunch box has a black and red plaid exterior, and the top is adorned with the text “Moore’s Patented Folding Lunch Box.” About three inches tall in its box form; it collapses down to less than half an inch when folded.

©1947 - surprisingly NOT made by Voigtlander

This camera was made by the Vokar Corp. here in the USA - then marketed by Wirgin in Germany under the Voigt name. Crazy story, kind of fun. Looks a lot like my Wirgin Deluxe but without all of the fancy bits :)

This extremely rare folding septum was owned by the Rothschilds, Jewish financiers whose art was seized in the Nazi takeover of Austria in 1938. In 1945, the art was rescued by American troops and given to the Austrian government. The Rothschilds later recovered part of their collection, but only after giving this and other items to the Art History Museum in Vienna. In 1999 however, under international pressure to restore Holocaust victim's property, Austria returned the art to the family, who then sold many of the pieces.

This weapon is possibly the Armory's most important acquisition. It is the finest surving septum, with its intricate mechanism of folding blades and mountings bearing delicate gold arabesques on a background darkened for a brilliant contrast. Similar decoration appears on fine MIlanese armors of the mid-sixteenth century, suggesting a possible origin and date. The weapon also retains its original wooden shaft with impressed and gilded motifs. Folding septums were imperial-quality weapons because of their expensive construction and elaborate decoration. Their original purpose remains unclear, but it is possible that they were carried by bodyguards or as splendid hunting weapons.

When we fit a bathscreen it is with the same attention and care as when we fit a full shower. The result: a classy and practical solution.

Bicycles not allowed unless both folding and folded. They also have some fairly excessive regulations regarding putting bikes in bags.

9 Folding bikes and lockers

=====================

9.1 Folding bikes are the only type of bike allowed on Metro but they must

be fully folded on Metro property.

9.2 Under our Health and Safety policy, we advise that some folding bikes need to be placed in bags:

Folding bikes that should be carried in a bag:-

Bikes that when folded, have handlebars, and / or pedals sticking

out which could cause injury. Also if the chain is not enclosed, the

folding bike should be placed in a bag. We don’t specify the type

of bag used. However, bags should be strong enough to prevent

handlebars and pedals from causing any injury

Folding bikes that don’t need to be placed in a bag:-

Bikes that fold so that handlebars and pedals don’t stick out and

risk causing injury to Metro passengers. The folding system

should enclose the chain so other passengers are not put at risk of

getting oil on their clothing

9.3 Cycle lockers are available at several Metro stations throughout the

system. You can use these free of charge*. For details visit our website

www.nexus.org.uk.

£30 deposit required but this is refundable when you return your

locker key.
