With her wings in the stowed position, Aeronavle (French Navy) Breguet Alize, No.56 on static display at the IAT held at RAF Greenham Common in July 1983.
Like the Royal Navy's Fairey Gannet the Alize was used for carrier-based anti-submarine warfare but managed to stay in service up until at least the late 1990's.
My trusty Flickr Friend ƒliçkrwåy www.flickr.com/photos/86182676@N00 tells me that one such example has just been put back in flying condition. Let's hope she graces our airshow circuit with her presence soon.

I held a series of three sessions at KPF NY demonstrating severals ways to transform a flat single sheet of paper into a complex form. I demonstrated folds that used both standard origami techniques (square paper, no cutting) and more modern approaches (laser-cut and -scored curves). The square forms date back to the Bauhaus movement and I was inspired by the work I did for Erik and Marty Demaine when choosing the shapes of the curved forms. Special thanks also to Alex Soijka who helped with the video.
G, H, I: folded a different way, similar to conventional fountain pen, not any more effective than the plain folded nib.
G, I: made from sardine tin in one piece
G: has one broadedge end and one pointed end (see other pic showing the whole pen)
J: 2.5mm angled for arabic script

the original folded pen was developed by Matthew Coffin u.s.a in the 1990s!

My mind is arrested by thoughts of monsoon rains. So here I am modeling a highly improbable piece of rain gear along with a new pair of boots I just got off Craig's list. The fold flat ones would fit easily in a suitcase if you don't mind looking like Atila The Hun. They are actually chemical overboots I got from a surplus catalog many years ago. You get to wear them over the shoes of your choice which is handy.
Since most in Bangkok don't think of walking and try to drive when the streets are flooded, rain boots don't seem to have come into vogue. The pair from Craig's list are pretty stylin' so will probably pass muster. They're from a woman who claimed they were impractical for California.
My first improvement was adding a pencil holder.
It serves also the purpose to prevent pressing too hard on the the lid when closed, breaking the folding wood part

But this design was made for a laser cutting machine.
So I changed the design for a CNC machine and addes some improvements: A DIN A6 version, a pencil holder, improved clamp and changed the position of the rubber band slot.

I bought this in Ikebukuro after a lengthy trip around the city trying to find a different bike... I rode it around a good portion of the city in the last few days we were in tokyo.
And then I folded it up and carried it home with me on the plane :)

I've not processed these shots much as I wanted to keep the feeling of a hot, bright summers day ......which it was.
The rocks at Dolaucothi lie on the boundary of the Ordovician and Silurian eras so they are around 440 million years old. They are made of marine black shales so are difficult to photograph unless in direct harsh sunlight. Above the two students you can see a tight overfold here that has broken into a thrust fault. The quartz veins containing gold often form as saddle reefs in the apex of such folds. Hence the cave here is hand dug into the fold axis possibly by Romans to try and find gold.
A time-lapse diorama short taken at the Citrus Classic Balloon Festival in Santa Paula, Ca. The ballooners were not able to launch due to the weather. So some decided that it was better to pack it up. I was able to sit down on the field and setup my Gorilla pod and used my Olympus E-P3 & Panny 14mm for the video. I set the camera to the Diorama filter for the time-lapse feel of the video. I want to say the total video time was like 10mins or so...

"In June 2009, Camille was diagnosed with an Intracranial Ependymoma situated in the fourth ventricle between the cerebellum and the brain stem at the base of the brain. The tumour is currently pressing against the cerebellum and brain stem making surgery too dangerous. The treatment plan is to offer chemotherapy to shrink the tumour away from these two areas so surgery can take place. Chemotherapy started on 23rd July 2009 and is planned to last for 12 months or more."
Camille's mum belongs to an online community that I've been a part of for a long time. We've all been through a lot of things together, births, marriages, break ups, make ups, but I don't think anything has touched us quite as much as Camille's story.
A group of us also belong to the flickr community and wondered if there was anything we could do here to help raise awareness. Can I please, please ask you to take a look at this group and become a member and invite your contacts. It would also be great if some of the pictures reached explore so if you could comment or fave (preferably both) this would really give the appeal a boost.

It was really hard to come up with an idea of folding caterpillar track and even the afterward folding job was quite exhausting..
Anyway, I'm currently trying to make my new secret models like this one, into a computer program-drawn diagrams. I'll be happy if anyone could draw it for me.. :-)

Seven Spot Ladybird: found this Ladybird cosied up next to a Forget Me Not flower in our barley field. It looked a little snug.
