I gave the last one away as a present and got this one for myself. Some differences from the last, the main being Sachs 3-speed Torpedo gears instead of Sturmey-Archer, a handlebar strut, Kenda tyres instead of the superior Michelin and slightly less quality quick releases (using a spanner instead of a kurled nut). Still, great value on ebay for £100. It came with a receipt saying it was bought new in 1985 for £120. It's only been used very lightly and is in great condition. It folds up neatly and fits into the blue bag. This can also be folded up and used as a handlebar bag when on the move.

The rocks at Dolaucothi lie on the boundary of the Ordovician and Silurian eras so they are around 440 million years old. They are made of marine black shales so are difficult to photograph unless in direct harsh sunlight. Above the two students you can see a tight overfold here that has broken into a thrust fault. The quartz veins containing gold often form as saddle reefs in the apex of such folds. Hence the cave here is hand dug into the fold axis possibly by Romans to try and find gold.

We were fascinated that the loo roll was magically folded between each use in the toilets

I haven't shot with this camera lately so I took a few images today (Camera image uploaded with these). This is the 2nd edition model with the silver struts. Stopped down it takes decent shots for a meniscus style lens. Cropped for effect. Taken on Kodak Verichrome Pan from Sept 1960. Developed in D76 10 minutes at room temperature.

MMVZ 113-331 folding bike

Made in Minsk, Belarus.

20 inch wheels, coaster brake

130mm/1in/26.0mm stem (needed to shim it with a trimmed down 1-1/8" to 1" stem shim since the steer tube is 7/8")

pewter 3ttt ergopower drops cause this thing is running full campy record ;D

beat up san marco regal (needed to get a brooks 7/8" seatpost clamp for old school pipe style seatposts.)

heavy as a tank but quite a nimble ride and it does bar spins!

and from the internets:

MMVZ (Minski Mototzikletni Velo Zavod) now days known as Motovelo Corp., was a leading bicycle manufacturer in the Soviet union. The company was founded in 1945, based on the equipment exported from Germany after the WWII, from the DKW plant (before the war they produced bicycles with small engine) Zschopau, who was in the Soviet zone of occupation, due for demolition as a company, tools and technical documentation were taken to Minsk (Belarus). In May 1946, the first Belarusian bike was produced. After 20 years more then 8 million bikes were produced. Now the factory change the name to AIST (stork) with the range of more then 12 bicycle models.

"In June 2009, Camille was diagnosed with an Intracranial Ependymoma situated in the fourth ventricle between the cerebellum and the brain stem at the base of the brain. The tumour is currently pressing against the cerebellum and brain stem making surgery too dangerous. The treatment plan is to offer chemotherapy to shrink the tumour away from these two areas so surgery can take place. Chemotherapy started on 23rd July 2009 and is planned to last for 12 months or more."

Camille's mum belongs to an online community that I've been a part of for a long time. We've all been through a lot of things together, births, marriages, break ups, make ups, but I don't think anything has touched us quite as much as Camille's story.

A group of us also belong to the flickr community and wondered if there was anything we could do here to help raise awareness. Can I please, please ask you to take a look at this group and become a member and invite your contacts. It would also be great if some of the pictures reached explore so if you could comment or fave (preferably both) this would really give the appeal a boost.

Can I also ask you to look at Camille's website and read Martin's (Camille's dad) blog. What Camille's family are going through is truly heartbreaking. Please, please do what you can.

Thank you for reading.

It was really hard to come up with an idea of folding caterpillar track and even the afterward folding job was quite exhausting..

Anyway, I'm currently trying to make my new secret models like this one, into a computer program-drawn diagrams. I'll be happy if anyone could draw it for me.. :-)

I like the continuation of my folds onto the sheets. Ha! That sounds disgusting, doesn't it?

I held a series of three sessions at KPF NY demonstrating severals ways to transform a flat single sheet of paper into a complex form. I demonstrated folds that used both standard origami techniques (square paper, no cutting) and more modern approaches (laser-cut and -scored curves). The square forms date back to the Bauhaus movement and I was inspired by the work I did for Erik and Marty Demaine when choosing the shapes of the curved forms. Special thanks also to Alex Soijka who helped with the video.

well you just know that any visit to New York simply has to have some pictures of iconic symbols....

This tin-plated iron lunch box was patented in 1871 by Charles C. Moore. The box folds in flat on itself. The lunch box has a black and red plaid exterior, and the top is adorned with the text “Moore’s Patented Folding Lunch Box.” About three inches tall in its box form; it collapses down to less than half an inch when folded.

We restored this vintage folding model, and added a dropbars. The Sturmey Archer 3 speed internal rear hub was also reconditioned. Note 2nd interrupter brake levers,
