Leccinum is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae. Their main distinguishing feature is the small, rigid projections (scabers) that give a rough texture to their stalks. Mushrooms of this family have pores rather than gills underneath. White Butte, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. 15 July 2024

It's been so long since I've done any focus stacking, I had almost forgotten how to do it. Thank goodness it all came back to me.
7 images stacked.
After almost a whole year of taking no pictures (mostly due to laziness) I guess my "sabbatical" is about over. This is the first Morel that I've seen this year. Stack of 11 images.

As a long time keeper of houseplants, I continually endeavor to provide ALL of the necessaries for my plants. This is a great success story for me, because of its lushness. My neighbor had the original of this plant in the hall between our 2 units in a North facing window. It did not do well, so after a year or so, I took a stem cutting. That was about 5 years ago or so, and this is how it has progressed with its twisted stem and all. Its current height is about 2 feet.
Thank you all for the Explore.
You've seen many pictures of dandelions, this is my version. I'm a strobist and i love playing with photoshop. So this is a focusstack from 7 single images, combined in Photoshop CC. The final look is given with Nik Color Efex Pro.

So I finally broke down and got myself a true Macro 1:1 lens. I got the Tamron SP 90 mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD lens for my Canon 5D mark4 for an early Christmas present for myself. I am not disappointed. Beautiful lens that took amazing images. Tiger Lilly using a focus rail and focus stacking.
I am happy. Merry Christmas to me.

My eye was caught by the shining colours of the leaves and berries of the cotoneaster in my garden. Add to that the bronze of winter ferns and they brightened up a grey winter day :)

These open-ocean, floating creatures typically wash ashore in spring, as they did this year in unusually huge numbers. But this week, in late August, another influx.
