Studio work with a live specimen. Focus stack based on 70 images, assembled in Zerene Stacker (Pmax & Dmap). Sony A7Rm5 (cropped mode), FE 2.8/90 Macro G OSS; ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/13sec, -1.0step, all natural diffused light.

A small glint on a sandy surface drew my attention to this wonderfully iridescent bug. Who knows the species/ genus? The colors are amazing! Taken with the new Laowa 25 mm Ultra Macro. The test report is now available on Makrotreff!
Early morning shade provides the background which allows us to see the long floral tubes. And those tubes provide the genus name from Greek, combining "slender" with "tube" or "pipe." Hard to argue with that description.

These puffballmushrooms were quite common in places. According to the field guide, it appears to be Astraeus hygrometricus, a puffball growing in sandy areas. I had only seen it in books before. Arms are open when wet and close over the spore sac when dry. Little Red River Park, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. 20 June 2020

In early morning along Wascan Creek West of Pasqua Street, i could see these white spots all over the grassy field. Sony A7M3 +Sony 90mm macro f2.8 1/50s ISO-500.
Nota: En extérieur le sujet doit être immobile, PAS DE VENT, évitez les définitions trop gourmandes , mes originaux de 24Mp (8Mo) font planter CombineZP, la bête étant partie je les ai donc recadrées en lot avec "Darktable". 10 images de plus pour l'abdomen auraient été nécessaires.
Voila ma première expérience avec cette technique.
Yesterday, I took a trip deep down into the Mountains of Kyoto Prefecture. A post from Jay Klaphake sparked my interest. It showed a picture of a field of Yuzen Chrysanthemum in the small village of Kuta. I've been in that area before, and I know it's pristine and beautiful.
I drove on NR 110 that runs past the Hisata River. Soon it will be the Obon holidays, and a nearby campsite was inundated with tents and campers enjoying the River. A little further is the village of Kuta and my destination. The Daiya River runs next to the tiny road, and some parents were fishing with their kids. Not so many people around, and guess what, "no masks". I suppose so deep into the countryside with no one around.

This Photograph is focus stacked by image stacking software "Combine ZP". So the depth of focus is very deep.
Using focus bracketing feature of Olympus OM=D E-M5 mk 2,
27pictures were taken and stacked.
Some focus stacking again. Tamron 9 + Canon 25mm extension tube. Sorry about the cobweb.. but he was got from the inside edge of the bathroom window where he had obviously met his end :-( But stunning eyes up close. Makes me think of a world map!
