You can’t get much redder than this Volkswagen Beetle. Although, the lady who got out of it was wearing a bright red sweater. I couldn’t move fast enough to get her in the shot too. I was more interested in getting to breakfast at a little place around the corner. We’d walked past the place on Saturday and there was a line outside the door. It was definitely worth going to today. I had biscuits and gravy with a spicy, cheesy sauce. It was a classic diner with a counter and being in New Orleans a couple of slot machines.

Lucky, lucky, lucky.

I’ve got a lot of four-leaf clovers. (And five-leaf, and seven-leaf...)

I have always loved going out to look for four-leaf clovers. It’s like a mind-soothing activity for me.

I press them into whatever book I can find. I only went through about half of one book to get these, I still missed a ton in this book, and any with the “found on” date written down I left in the book and didn’t use. Some of them even have little stories, or I found it for a specific person. (“Found my missing keys at Lake Marion” is a fond memory, but I didn’t locate that specific clover in this book! I don’t remember which book it’s in!)

I even designed myself a little clover logo. A green clover in a hot pink square. it is based on the two B’s of my initials, back-to-back to form a clover. I designed it forever ago but only use it rarely.

(Yeah, totally dropped the ball on Photo a Day for January. Lots of excuses: bigger ongoing projects, upload limit filling up rapidly, short attention span, etc... Honestly I (respectfully) didn’t have the heart to come up with a “Pets” prompt this time, and I (disrespectfully) didn’t want to take one more bad photo of a white/grey overcast sky just because “The Sky” was the prompt and I had no clever ideas. Lol)

FMS Photo A Day - February 11 - This Has Wheels. The Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square Prague. There are many wheels and cogs to make this historic clock run. I’ve been to Prague twice and still am amazed by this clock. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday

'Contagion' by Teri Terry

We have an offshoot of this wine bar in our neighborhood. They serve some great wines.

This is my new hat which I have not worn in “anger” yet. I’ve tried it on and walked around the house. I have not been out in it in the sun and let it protect my bald pate. I need it these days because I have absolutely no natural protection in the summer or insulation in the winter. The hat it replaces caused me trouble on the way back from Mexico this summer. Going through security in Houston, one of TSA fellows stopped me and asked to have a look at it. So I gave it to him and he shook it weighed it up, pun intended, and handed it me back and said it felt heavy. Thinking nothing of it, I put it on an then went in search of my bag. The TSA chap then followed me and said he wanted another look at it because it was heavy. So I gave it back to him and he shook it and bounced it up and down and again said it was heavy. He then called his supervisor who agreed it was heavy so off they go to x-ray it. Needless to say, they found nothing and handed it back to me. Not sure what they thought they might find but probably not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Is there anything more natural than corn, barley, yeast, and water? Boil the mash, add the yeast, leave it to ferment, distill it, age it in a barrel and you are done. Fully natural, no artificially ingredients what could be better for you?

Heart table decorations

I looked to my right when walking the dog tonight and this was my view. The weather was finally clearing up after days of rain. If I’d looked to my left you would have actually seen blue skies.

FMS Photo A Day. July 15. The letter R. Using song titles and lyrics this month as my inspiration. R is for Rescue. The song is Rescue Me by Fontella Bass. And the model is my baby. Tallulah our three legged rescue dog. We’ve had her for three years now

Rescue me

Come on and take my heart

Take your love and conquer every part

'Cause I'm lonely

And I'm blue

I need you

And your love too

Come on and rescue me

FMS Photo A Day group's theme today is Not Filtered. I took the them literally and not necessarily as photo edit idea. My daughters say when my mouth comes open I am not filtered. This is to their amusement at times and also to their horror.at other times.

Growing up, I remember watching the TV show Little House on the Prairie. The school house was just like this place I rode by today. I’ve passed this a bunch of times but today was the first time I stopped for a close look. This was the local school from the late 1880s up until 1954. Today, it is used as community center and for weddings. It is hard to imagine a time when a community would have a school so small. I’m sure life up here, about 7000’ above sea level was tough during the winter which would run from October through April.

Veggies in a pan (promise!)

Looking back at this I just realized how good that green building stands out against that blue sky.

I recently used this photo for the FMS Photo A Day Challenge. The photo prompt was "green". March 3, 2023 #fmsphotoaday #fmspad

FMS Photo A Day July 24. The letter G. I feel at times like I am truly in my golden years. But there are shadows in those golden years. Still using song titles and lyrics this month as inspiration. G is for Golden Years. Words and music by David Bowie. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday

Looking at just two doors across the courtyard from our room seems fairly innocuous; a couple of doors to a hotel room. When you pull back, it starts to feel a bit like Oz. It can feel like Vernon Schillinger is staring across at your from the other side. Lots of regular doors, bars on the walkways, numbers on the doors. Am I voluntarily interning myself?

FMS Photo A Day July 11, 2023. The letter S. Continuing with my song title themes this month. S is for Shine A Light by The Rolling Stones. Many feel Leon Russell helped write this one also. #fmsphotoaday #fmspad

I did have tacos for lunch today but I made them at home before I found the Taco House. I love these patterns in blocks that enclose the drive through lane.

This place is in the building where we have our condo. For years, I have studiously avoided the place. Not because it is bad but because the cookies are huge and I have no will power. I’m sure each one comes in around 1000 calories and not the good ones. Last week, we had a coupon for two cookies which which we exchanged for fudge. It was extremely good. Now, I’ll need twice the fortitude to stay away.

t’s hard to decided which of these is Zia’s favorite words. Given the German Shepherd head tilt here, its pretty certain that right at the moment dinner was top of mind. The only question remaining was how was going to get it for her.

One town over they have an old Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad depot and this caboose is parked outside in the grass. It has been turned into an art gallery and they have some really cool stuff. The caboose is usually loaded with photos and prints from local artists. I do feel, that given its name, it should be featured in a song

Nothing like the #smell of a freshly opened container of ground #coffee. Funny, cause I don’t drink it often ‍♀️ but have loved the scent since childhood. Used to run for a whiff or two when I heard my Mom at the can opener. Ah, the memories...

There is nothing like going over the top at Christmas. How is this for adding some sparkle. This is the Hazard Gingerbread House. Apparently it has its own web site although I have not been there. Tonight we went out and crusade the town looking at Christmas decorations. There are tons of them out there, some with lights set to music which they are broadcasting as FM stations. We got a bonus tonight too. There was a huge fireworks display which we got a great view of from the end of a cul-de-sac.

For such a big cat, Max has a delicate pink nose with wonderful beauty spot.
