FMS Photo A Day - March 16. A Treasure I Found. I see a lot of dog photos today. I wanted to do something original after seeing so many of them. But my heart said no. Because this three legged dog is truly a treasure that I found. Tallulah this is your moment girl. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday
There is nothing like sitting and thinking on the side of Water’s Edge Park after a hard day at work

It’s boring today, overcast with occasional bits of sunshine.
FMS Photo A Day - Todays photo prompt was Skyline. It was rainy and nasty outside so I did not go out hunting for any skyline phones. But I did edit and update an older photo I had taken in Chicago. I added some darkness to represent how the day actually looked today. #fmsphotoaday #fmspad
FMS Photo A Day - July 5, 2023 - Todays prompt was the letter P. P is for photograph. This is me at 70 looking back at me at 24. I don't even really who that young guy was now. Is that really me. I used Ringo Starr's song Photograph as my musical inspiration today #fmsphotoaday #fmspad
There has been controversy in our neighborhood for a couple of weeks now. When is it okay to turn on the Christmas lights. Officially, you were not supposed to do it until 30 days before the holiday. So yesterday was the day. Some people had them on their houses at Halloween. We heard of letters from the HOA to people who already had them turned on. There was a Facebook campaign to have the rules rewritten so they can be turned on early. There were snide comments about the Divali lights and the Hanukkah lights. No matter what, I think it is too soon. Maybe I’m a grinch but the first Saturday in December seems reasonable to me with the first Saturday in January to take them down.
My favorite bit of 2021 has been hanging out with you fmspadsters all year long. I feel like I’ve revived some of my old Insta friendships from my last year long run and made some new Insta friends too. You’ve made me get out of the house, most of the time, to hunt down a picture for the day. So here’s my effort for today. This building was built as a Key Savings & Loan Bank branch. It was designed by Charles Deaton and completed in 1967 which puts it two years inside the official mid-century modern time period. It is now a listed on the National Register of Historic Places for architecture. Charles Deaton was the architect that built the house featured in Woody Allen’s movie Sleepers. I’m not sure when Key Savings and Loan went away but now the building houses a Community Banks of Colorado branch.
Well, I didn’t really but I would if I could. If it was for sale and if I could afford it. What could be cooler than a 13 horse power, Italian designed, BWM built microcar? It puts the 500+ horsepower M(onsters) to shame. This beauty was on display at our local @schompbmw

The photo a day topic today was Water. I tried to think of something original or inventive all day and by 10:30 pm I surrendered and posted an old photo. I took this last summer on vacation. The waterfall was within walking distance of our rental cabin in Lisbon, New Hampshire #fmsphotoaday #fmspad
The Flat Iron Building in NYC is one of the iconic buildings to see. We have our own version here in Denver, The Brown Palace Hotel although it is nowhere near as tall. Ours actually precedes the NYC version by 15 or so years having been built in the late 1800s. There is all sorts of history about the hotel these days from scandalous murders and hidden bootlegger and speakeasy tunnels from the prohibition era. These days they do a fancy brunch on weekends and high tea in the lobby in the afternoons.

I worked in the yard early in the day and then decided to take a break. Perfect weather for some time on the patio with a new book. I used this for both my FMS Photo A Day and my 365 Year 14 Photo #fmsphotoaday #fmspad
FMS Photo A Day July 14, 2023. The Letter W. Still using my song title and lyrics theme today. W is for What A Wonderful World by by the legendary Louis Armstrong. This photo is from my files today. I took this a while back at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday

May 29. FMS Photo A Day. I Wore This. I mentioned a few days ago how many people wear the Maryland on their clothing. Crabs are another big symbol in Maryland. I was trying to get a photo together for today. And here I am. With another shirt with the Maryland flag but with a crab also. #fmspad #fmsphotoaday
Lucky, lucky, lucky.
I’ve got a lot of four-leaf clovers. (And five-leaf, and seven-leaf...)
I have always loved going out to look for four-leaf clovers. It’s like a mind-soothing activity for me.
I press them into whatever book I can find. I only went through about half of one book to get these, I still missed a ton in this book, and any with the “found on” date written down I left in the book and didn’t use. Some of them even have little stories, or I found it for a specific person. (“Found my missing keys at Lake Marion” is a fond memory, but I didn’t locate that specific clover in this book! I don’t remember which book it’s in!)
I even designed myself a little clover logo. A green clover in a hot pink square. it is based on the two B’s of my initials, back-to-back to form a clover. I designed it forever ago but only use it rarely.
(Yeah, totally dropped the ball on Photo a Day for January. Lots of excuses: bigger ongoing projects, upload limit filling up rapidly, short attention span, etc... Honestly I (respectfully) didn’t have the heart to come up with a “Pets” prompt this time, and I (disrespectfully) didn’t want to take one more bad photo of a white/grey overcast sky just because “The Sky” was the prompt and I had no clever ideas. Lol)
I had a great photo in mind for #fms_happy today. Then I remembered that I’d used it earlier in the year for #fms_mood. So here is my free choice. Our pool is still open after Labor Day but not for long. In a couple of weeks it will close and they will have the “Yappy Hour Dog Swim”. Our little girl will probably not partake. Not because she doesn’t like to swim but because she starts to think the water is hers and she doesn’t want to share. There are lots of curled lips, bared teeth and growls. It becomes a little embarrassing when you have to apologies to the dog owners who think their yappy dog is about to be eaten.
