While many people feel that the pigeon is merely a rat with wings, if you live anywhere near where seagulls congregate, you probably have the same sentiment of the ever present seagull.

One of Noah's mistakes with the Ark - pigeons, mosquitos, black flies should have been left behind - maybe politicians too.. Ok, the french makes pigeon pie - but otherwise they are mostly a source of irritation and they are dirty!
Who says you never see a baby pigeon. It's perched on top of a Porsche Cayenne covered in bird poo, unlucky
Any noise will cause them to lift off. Note the dual brown trail across the barn roof. This is caused by the birds facing one direction or the other on the wire and these are the trail of their droppings/poop.
i straightened this one out. if that's cheatin', so be it.
i do apologize for the terrible pun of a title.
This pigeon (Columba livia) has been lured in by the old bird seed that I bought ages ago when I lived in a house with a 'garden' that no birds ever visited.

Pigeons have been falsely associated with the spread of human disease and contact with droppings poses a minor risk.
This one was shot at the same location on the Empire State Building Rooftop. I suppose this is a classic tourist shot, but i like the background. Pigeons in my town are called "flying rats" i wonder what newyorkers think about them.

Burger King, Queen Street Glasgow - this isn't a one-off, the staff don't seem to bother that these flying rats roam their "restaurant"
The much abhorred NYC urban bird - a.k.a. "flying rat"
I'm not that adverse to them, but I have heard people call them that, ha ha.
[When? A weekend afternoon this summer
Where? Upper east side, NYC
What? Random pidgeon
With a...? Nikon D80 & 18 to 135mm f/3.5 kit lens - unedited & cropped]
now this i could not believe! there were more pigeons in St. Marks Plaza then ive seen anywhere else, not only that (and i can't believe the government lets people do this) there are old ladies selling bird seed all over the place!!! so people buy this bird seed and i saw birds literally crawling on people as they are trying to get away!
