I thought it would be easy to draw Leslie because I thought she looked alot like me and after all, I've drawn myself... alot. But once I actually looked at her photos, it seemed we really didn't resemble each other much at all - we both have short hair, are glancing to the side in one of our photos, and have more or less rectangular faces. But that's it - our eyes, filtrum, noses, mouths - pretty much everything is quite different. So it's interesting what you take in at a glance vs what's really there.

I see I got my glasses in there, I usually leave them out when drawing myself from memory... and often when drawing from the mirror as well.
I'm really enjoying the richness of the marks this app makes but it is definitely a specialized way of working and not for everyone. On the other hand, if you're not trying to draw anything specific and just want to mezmorize yourself with 'oh, pretty!' it's great for that, too - just twirl your finger on the surface and see what happens.
Tonight's feature was collected by one of our guest contributors, Tyler @tylerlinahan, If you would like to be considered for for a guest contributor spot, please contact Will- MobileArtistry @ icloud.com.
#MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page.
Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity.

Tonight's submission is from Pablo, aka @ptato, let's hear about his process.
I took a pic of the sunset from the window of the flat I live in in London, as the light and the skyline looked great. I like pics with lots of space and air that can be "filled" with patterns, shapes, etc. Another of my obsessions is symmetry and the interaction of geometrical shapes with pictures, so I tried to follow this approach on this one. I am an absolute amateur on the world of photography so I have to massively rely on intuition and constant trial/error, but that makes the editing more fun and pressure free.
The apps I used for this pic, and in general in all my edits, were: Snapseed (basic cropping, tone adjusting and for the final filtering and scratching of the image. I love playing with the Drama and Retrolux modes), Image Blender (such a quick and easy app to work with, probably the tool I use more), Decim8 (Beamrider and Tribomb are my favorite filters), Flowpaper (for the chimney smoke), Phonto (for main triangle and circle shapes) and Mirrorgram, one of my favorite apps by far! I blended some Mextures, NDpatterns and DSpatterns on this pic too.
Thanks so much to Mobile Artistry for the feature and specially to Tyler (tylerlinahan), it is such an honor!

ptato: @carried_the_world hey buddy! I sometimes just write symbols as the triangle, circles etc. in a white plain background in Phonto and then export it as an image that I blend with the pic with ImageBlender. You can also find great symbols and patterns on IG such as Lorystripes, DSpatterns, OGshapes, ARfilters and many more...

My hair is longer than it has been in years, but it isn't that long.. or red... yet.
Out of my front door, a pesky spider builds a web, that blocks my exit almost every day. This morning I decided to depict it instead of cursing it. A peculiar dance with a hint of annoyance. ;-)

A couple of sessions, probably 30-45 minutes.
One thing about getting older... there are more bumps, hollows and lines to draw on my face than there used to be.
