1.6 second exposure to smooth the flow of the water around the rocks. Was taken on a sunny day so a shutter speed any longer was over exposed. Taken when the river was low under bridge so i could get as much shade as possible for a long exposure and so i could also find exposed rocks for the effect of the water flowing around it. Using a tripod to keep camera steady.

Flow of Knowledge

Taken on the WSPM trip to Otmoor, this picture depicts MSc student Thomas Boynton and Professor David Bradley working together to collect samples. The purpose of the field trip was to measure biodiversity in the Otmoor Conservation area in order to determine how increased pH levels and wetland acidification may be impacting the area. Students collected samples in nets and then counted and classified the different types of species that were prevalent.

We had a wonderful time at the Schorndorf VHS making beautiful edelweiss flowers out of natural colors and fine fibers such as Merino wool, kid mohair, and silk caps! The women did a great job and many of them were first time felters! Bravo !!!

These are some initial test shots from FLOW: Hero.

The next amazing laser installation by Jo Fairfax and Graham Callister. The installation is based in the grounds of Boughton House, Geddington, and is due to go live at the end of January.

Be sure to check out the official flow website www.flow-northamptonshire.com for more info and confirmation of the dates once they have been confirmed.

Also go and check out Jo Fairfax's blog to see more of his truly beautiful pieces of work. www.jofairfax.blogspot.com

Flow chart comparing beer (R) vs cheese (L) creation process.

This is a purplish-blue salvia we've had for at least ten years. The blooms are lovely, but the foliage has a very strong odor similar to cat urine! This shot reminds me a little of a formal Chinese scroll painting or embroidery. Please note: my app (which I really like) for adding a frame to my shots somehow substitutes the date that the frame was added in place of the date the shot was actually taken. In reality, this photo was taken on 10/11/2011, using a Canon PowerShot A1000-IS.

The Pigeon River flows toward me here, on its way through the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina headed for Tennessee, where it will eventually meet up with the French Broad River. This river is popular for white water rafters. Upstream, you can see a bridge where Interstate 40 crosses.

I like the flow of the mountains.... And the flow of the houses behind it.
