Just a glimpse of some of the embroidery floss in my stash. Want to put them in color groups someday.

That's a hank of embroidery floss wound up into a ball for knitting. I just thought it was the cutest little ball of "yarn" ever. The quarter is for size comparison.

Knitting with this stuff on teeny tiny needles isn't so bad, actually. It's a bit slippery on the bamboo needles but it's like knitting with any other cotton. It's the perfect project for stupidly hot summer days.

Getting the beads on the floss was completely painless thanks to the wonderful woman at the Bead Junction on Roncesvalles. She showed me the right kind of beading needle to use, without which I would have had a very frustrating afternoon indeed.

This is how I spent my 4th of July, I organized my brand spankin new floss. This process literally took most of the day, but I was in hog heaven, TCM was having a Hitchcock marathon and it was overcast and rainy outside. I love those kind of days don't you?

Instead of its usual bun shapes, this Asian-type sweet, soft bread was baked in a jelly roll pan. It is then spread with a thin layer of mayonnaise and rolled into a log over a bed of floss ( in this case chicken). If you’ve ever made Buche De Noel, this will be easy peasy for you.
