For the Smile on Saturday where the challenge was to post an image that was straight out of camera (SOOC). This was taken a couple of hours ago on an excursion to a local woodland in search of fungi (which I NEVER shoot but thought I'd have a go). It took me over an hour to see my FIRST mushroom/fungi of the day. Really, I see so many superb fungi pictures on Flickr and here I couldn't even find any let alone photograph it. At any rate it was a frustrating day in that regard but on the plus side I got this which I really liked. Had I been allowed to I would have removed that leaf on the right in post processing but hey ho they said SOOC so SOOC it will be.

Laguna Nimez Reserve is an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA). It has a variety of 80 species of birds, both Patagonian residents and migratory, including waterfowl, landbirds, and shorebirds.
The vegetation is typical of Patagonian steppe, composed of fescue grasslands with alternating varieties of Berberis sp. and Senecio sp.. In the zones that are often covered by the flooding waters of Argentino Lake (Lago Argentino) there are reed beds (Schoenoplectus californicus).

Our local photography club theme for the month is Flora. I think many believe flora refers to flowers only, but is actually defined as: the plant life occurring in a particular region or time, generally the naturally occurring or indigenous—native plant life.
In Arctic regions flora come to life during the short summer season. Newcomers tend to be surprised by the vibrancy and range of colors to be observed.
