Passing the Royal Navy Dockyard we got a glimpse of HMS Queen Elizabeth, the largest and most powerful vessel ever constructed for the Royal Navy. In January HMS Queen Elizabeth assumed the role of Fleet Flagship of the Royal Navy.
In front of it is the American destroyer USS The Sullivans a guided missile destroyer launched in 1995. Note the American flag. Perhaps they are staking a claim. [Sorry my American friends, just couldn’t resist :) ]
Same fleet, different angle. All the ships are roughly 1:900 scale with as many key features crammed in as possible, they're not accurate but you do get the idea of what they are based on, which was the idea anyway.
After the Attestation Ceremony, the new midshipmen are at the Fleet Gym, Devonport Naval Base, for their first Multi Stage Fitness Test.

MV Artania (previously Royal Princess and Artemis), is a cruise ship of the Phoenix Reisen fleet. The ship was built by Wärtsilä at the Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland in 1984.Royal Princess was named by Diana, Princess of Wales at a ceremony in Southampton, United Kingdom on 15 November 1984. The ceremony was attended by members of the public, employees of the P&O Princess Group and local and international dignitaries including Mauno Koivisto, President of Finland. The Bishop of Southampton performed a blessing prior to the naming. She was transferred to the P&O fleet in April 2005 and renamed Artemis by Prunella Scales. Artemis is one of the few cruise ships that do not have any inside cabins. Artemis was the smallest and oldest ship in the P&O cruises fleet.
In 2010 the British woman Sarah Breton took charge of Artemis, becoming only the second female in the world to captain a major cruise ship and the first for P&O, following the Swedish woman Karin Stahre Janson, who took charge of MS Monarch of the Seas of Royal Caribbean Cruises in 2007.
On 22 September 2009, after numerous rumours, it was announced by P&O Cruises that the ship has been sold to Artania Shipping for an undisclosed sum of money. She continued to sail for P&O Cruises until April 22, 2011, when she passed to Phoenix Reisen as mv Artania.

After 25 years at its present location, Aldershot Bus Station will close for good at the end of this week. To mark this occasion, the opportunity was taken today (03/05/2023) to recreate a scene that would have occurred around 10 years ago. When Stagecoach took over Fleet Buzz in 2011 they kept the identity for 3 years and repainted a number of their own buses into the distinctive yellow and black livery. One such bus was AE51VFV, now lovingly restored by James Bell. It is seen here in the bus station as it would have been seen on the Route 72 to Reading. Some town shots conclude this afternoon jolly.
DB331. From Monday, 15th April, 2013, the Fleet Buzz route 73 will be replaced by a new route 30/31 with alternate buses running through to Basingstoke. On the last day of route 73 operation, Optare Solo 47740 is seen outside the Hart Centre in Fleet Road, Fleet bound for Frimley Park hospital.

Stagecoach Fleet Buzz 42058 (RL51 ZLO), a Mercedes-Benz Vario/ Plaxton Beaver 2, seen at Farnborough station on route 73.
Annoyingly, after this, I went into the station and while walking up the stairs of the footbridge, Solo 47737 (YJ57 YDA) went round on the 82, which I think it quite rare. It had manual blinds too!

Part of No 1 School of Technical Training (No 1 SoTT) at RAF Cosford, 238 Squadron have a fleet of SEPECAT Jaguar GR1 and GR3 aircraft, which are used for Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic training. With many thanks to staff of 238 Sqn, I was allowed to photograph the Jaguar aircraft at will, predominantly to provide the detail for a forthcoming 1/48 scale 54 Sqn Jaguar that is being made for me, the first aircraft that I worked on at RAF Coltishall after completing my tech training back in the early 80’s.

At this point there are only 3 buses and 2 of them are bus 7557. The 7557 on the left is an older version that did not have inner support braces on the bottom segment so the 3D wheels toe inward (look closely you’ll see what I mean). Also the 116 Morningside destination sign was a test and not correctly sized.
Blurry preview of my Microspace Fleet. Not ready for better pics yet but wanted to let you guys know I am still building.
Hunter F.1 WT680 at Fleet Hargate, 5th June 2014; Damien Burke
First flown on 6th October 1954, like many F.1s WT680 didn't have a long career and was retired to ground instructional duties by November 1957. She ended up at Aberporth and was looked after by 1429 Squadron ATC at the Defence Test & Evaluation Organisation's facility there. In 2005 she moved, and was refurbished and put on display in the car park of the Anglia Motel by the side of the A17 road. Unfortunately her repaint was carried out by simply re-doing the previous inaccurate paint scheme - as a Mk.1 she never wore these colours in service. If you do go along to take your own pictures, there's a bucket next to it for donations - which usually go to charities (the BBMF on my last visit). While she spent a little time resting on her bottom with nosewheel in the air, she's now returned to a normal stance. Unusually for preserved Hunter she is complete with engine and her cockpit is also remarkably complete. It's a shame the paint job is now faded and there is some corrosion appearing on the undercarriage legs and bays. A little loving attention right now and an authentic repaint would go a long way to keeping her around for years to come!
