Fifi had the idea and not finding any good pulls to buy, we made them. Bend silverware slightly, drill holes, buy/cut spacers to put between silver and drawer front, machine screws, done.

Pieces roughly in place, but most not glued. Still need to grout the first layer before I even glue on the next several layers. I have to say this is probably the "densest" piece of art work I have created so far... I'm already planning a frame from recycled stainless steel or silver aluminum channel filled with black river rocks since I think the piece will need that density to "hold" it and the matte finish as a more "down-to-earth" element to "balance" it.
MATERIALS: stained glass scraps and recycled stainless steel flatware on salvaged mirror on top of 'environmental' MDF. The size is only 8" x 11". "Steel Grass" is a colloquial term for bamboo, which is a grass and grows strong as steel here in the tropics.

Our Daily Bread Pewter Butter Knife with Custom Wooden Box.
Hand Made by Michael Ricci
The model for this knife was made from hand-carved wood, lace, metal, and clay. Then I made a mold of that and cast the final piece in lead-free pewter and gave it an antique patina finish. I carefully shaped the handle for a nice, comfortable grip. The box is also hand made and custom fitted for the knife to fit snugly inside on a plush, velveteen bed. An "Our Daily Bread" pewter plaque adorns the lid so the box doubles as a decorative piece you can display on a mantle or shelf. This is truly a unique piece and only a limited number will be made. It's a perfect wedding or house warming gift that will be treasured for years.
In Japan there is a saying that goes "There is shelter enough if it protects from the rain, food enough if it staves off hunger." When we recite the words, "Give us this day our daily bread" we're not asking for a weeks worth of groceries or a several course meal at a fine restaurant. We are asking for only what we need to satisfy our hunger for the day-our daily bread-and nothing more. Using this knife on a daily basis will remind us how often we have so much more than we really need, and that we should count our blessings each and every day and be grateful for our daily bread that sustains us and keeps us alive and happy.
Knife measures 8 inches long. Box measures 9 1/4" long X 3" deep X 2" high

Very few homes qualify as villas but the Dolphin is one of them. Its Hawaiian name is Nai’a Hale - the Dolphin house. Situated in the Princeville Resort area of Kauai Hawaii this home is clean, new and stunningly spacious.
Situated along and facing the golf course, the atmosphere is tropical and Polynesian throughout. As you drive into the home you’ll find a spacious two car garage and an inviting entry that opens into a large and prestigious foyer. The Villa gets its name from the oversize brass dolphin sculptures there.
Straight ahead is a well lite living area with a television, comfortable couches and stereo center. Adjacent is a large hand-carved card table for dining or games. And just out the backdoor is an over-sized hot tub that bubbles and boils just inviting you to sit and overlook the garden like setting looking across the way to the 7th hole.
On this floor there are four bedrooms. The first is a master with perfectly appointed King Bed and an additional single. The villa laundry center is back toward the street with easy access from the parking areas. Another bedroom features a queen bed and large windows that face out onto the garden.
As you ascend up the spiral staircase past the dolphin sculpture you come to the main living area. Here another large living is dominated by the media center which includes surround sound and a whopping 60” plasma television. So large it is as if you can climb right into the picture. Complete with Xbox Gaming system.
The large dining area is perfect for entertaining friends and family; and the state of the art new kitchen with stainless steel appliances is right at hand. Gourmets will find nothing lacking and the house is, of course, stocked with all the plate ware, flatware and pots and pans needed to cook up a creation.
The master suite with perfectly appointed King Bed and an additional single sits on the top floor. There are three private bathrooms in the home and all beds have quality linens and spreads.
My uncle brought over a few boxes of things for me to sell at my yard sale, but I found some treasures for myself!
I didn't really need more flatware, but this is pretty cool. It will replace some of what I have.
This in not the set I have, but it is a better picture of one than I could ever take, so I, "borrowed," it from ebay.
