Faculty and staff represented by the Professional Staff Congress (PSC) union held a rally on the first day of classes, January 28, 2022 at Medgar Evers College to demand that university management act to protect the health of students and workers, the jobs of adjunct faculty and the academic progress of students at The City University of New York, calling for no class cancellations or layoffs and improved health and safety protocols. State elected officials joined a group of excluded essential workers who have been on hunger strike for the past two weeks for a press conference at Washington Square Park in Manhattan on March 29, 2021 to call on state lawmakers not to leave excluded workers behind in their negotiated budget, which is expected to be released over the coming days.

Today, protesters once again returned to downtown Raleigh, NC demanding Governor Roy Cooper reopen the state of NC sooner amid the "Covid 19 pandemic" executive orders that has essentially shut down the state. First the goal was "flattening the curve" so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed and our healthcare system would not collapse base on flawed death predictions of 2 million people dying in the USA. When that false narrative was debunked, they moved the goal posts to "were buying time til we can develop a therapeutic or vaccine". But here in lies the problem, if we are waiting for a "deus ex machina" while tens of thousands of people lose their jobs, and fall into poverty and despair, and we have no timeline at all! Millions have filed for unemployment after trying to contact NC Unemployment for weeks, That is millions out of work. No wonder there are so many angry Americans protesting on our streets.
