via Instagram ift.tt/1KMvsFU — Woah. Found some 2nd year MFA thesis gems -- cut up essay with notes and directions for improvement and more material, and then test prints of the my sustainabilitist principles... I wonder where all the books I printed in went ... Hopefully all back to the book exchange I got them from ... The #flatfiles have been gone through ... #theend #goodnight

I acquired an old typesetter's flat file. It's 24 drawers of solid steel and particle board. It took about a week to clean off the ink and rust, but it was well worth it. I may never need another drawer, ever again.
600 drawings 4x4 2019, is the result of a drawing project — making at least one drawing each day. This project involved the use of four-inch squares of paper of various weights, colors, and surfaces. I found that many small pieces could be cut out of remnants of paper in my studio.
Year long projects help expand my vocabulary, they create new phrases and expletives. Join me to see the hundreds of drawings I made in this series.

I think I had the flu. This was shortly before I started telling a story of how Jon F. totally passed out on my kitchen floor and I got stuck laughing. Good times.

Really. Flat files were on my list of life goals. Right after a house to put them in, since they are really heavy.

Sarah designed and built this beautiful flatfile several years ago, and it has provided to be the perfect home for our collection of posters and other printed materials.
"The Flatfile" will serve as an online archive of it's contents – both so I can better keep track of them and to share with others.
