many speculate that road closures will be necessary during events at the proposed Barclay's Arena in Atlantic Yards. roads around the Prudential Center in New Jersey are closed during events to reduce the risk of a terrorist attack.

This photo was taken in Ditmas Park, also known as the Victorian Flatbush part of Brooklyn, NY. The area used to be the home of wealthy late-nineteenth century industrialists who didn't want to commute all the way to railroad suburbs such as Greenwich, CT.

Newkirk Plaza station, on the BMT Brighton Line, built in 1900 and rebuilt in 1908. Unusually, the open-cut, mid-block station is surmounted by a pedestrian area, with shops facing the tracks. This might appear to be some "festival marketplace"-esque urban-renewal scheme, but - as the facades in this shot might suggest - it actually dates back to 1915. It won't change your life architecturally, but it's a cool idea and it'd be neat to see more of the trench-type stations do something like this. See satellite view.
