Onto the fun stuff
The tan flats with the gold buckle - love these too, they fold up so easy to put in a purse, and very comfortable, go with everything.
The Frankies - these are interesting, the Standard Brisbane mom shoe. Says "I'm cute and kind of sexy but trying to be subtle about it, maybe it's casual Friday on Eagle Street. " I looked for a pair for ages in my size and surpruse surpirse I found them at a thrift shop nearby in perfect shape. One size too big but I can def make it work. 😆
On the day I took this photo, there was so much haze that everything looked flat. I will be adding a few more photos I took in the area.
One thing that I had planned in my head for this NYC trip was to photograph the Flat Iron building.
Yesterday, when I went to check it out, I was dissapointed when I saw all the construction going on.
Chorro Flats Enhancement Project, Sediment Capture and Wetlands Restoration Site, viewed from Turtle Hill,
Morro Bay, CA (Chorro Valley and Highway One are in the near distance, with the Santa Lucia Range and Cuesta Ridge in the far distance.)
One of the biggest issues for the bay is sedimentation and this mass of willows is intended to help slow down some sedimentation as Chorro Creek winds through these willows. There are other projects upstream as well. This is slightly upstream (the other side of the small hill) from the adjacent photo.
For those away from California who may be surprised by "fall color" in January, you already knew California was weird. Just one more example.
Flat Stanley goes to the Diego Martin Central Secondary School, where his friend Prince's aunty works.'Mrs. Edwards-Permaul introduced me to Mrs. Cauldero. She is a Music teacher. She lives in a place called Sangre Grande.'
I got a flat tire while traveling along SR-415 in Florida. The front tire is the faulty one. Because of something in the differential, the spare can't go on the front. Such fun. Fortunately, I was able to take advantage of a recently built section of road that was not yet open to traffic.

This was emphatically NOT how I wanted to start my day. I'm not sure what happened; I must have driven over something on the highway as I was driving south to take care of some errands before work. I am lucky that when my tire finally popped (seriously, it sounded like a giant balloon exploding while I was driving and it scared the CRAP out of me) that I was on a local road close to my parents' house, instead of driving 65 mph on the highway. Lucky or not, it was NOT FUN. GRR.
Ashlea P., Palo Alto. Flats with patent leather band (Banana Republic) because they’re super comfortable.
Sometimes keeping a blog seems like a Marathon run. You need to keep going whatever the pain and push yourself over the line. The changing seasons, longer days and ever growing list of things to do means that blogging slips down the priority list and I struggle with that. Blogging has become so much part of my daily routine – a time for reflection, a point at which I can flex my creative thinking. But when things get busy it seems like a luxury that’s hard to afford.
I’ve had a chat with my internal coach and we’ve agreed all I need to do is shift a few priorities, reorganise the routine and before long I’ll be back in the blogging rhythm again.
I do my best thinking first thing in the morning but with warmer days upon us the bassets needs must come first. It’s that time of year that if you don’t get the hounds out on their walk and back before 0900 then you can forget it again until late into the day. Bassets and heat are not a great combination (unless of course it’s a warm roaring fire). If they over heat they simply flop down and do their flat basset act.
It’s a time of year when you have to be extra vigilant where you walk in case a basset is lounging around hanging their belly out for the cooling effect. They can also be found flat out on the lawn – resting their chins on the soft cushioned ground. Now all this flat basset behaviour is cute but flat bassets also seem to develop sucker like tendencies which mean that a flat basset won’t be moved. It’s like a dead weight pressing further into the earth.
The only thing to shift a flat basset will be the offer of food. And only then if you feed them like a Roman lying in repose. It appears cheese is their snack of choice.
