As the current lockdown has given me some spare time , a look in the loft has found numerous boxes of slides. In amongst them i have found a few railway images taken from a good while ago. My scanner does not do this slide justice as regards quality but its the best I've got.

Double headed class 37's headed by 37687 and another unknown at Water Orton in i believe February 1990 .

37687 entered service as D6881 on 21-10-1963.

Re-numbered as 37610 in 1995 and still in service 14-04-2020.

Wooden coaches and an Alco

So this is one of my picks for today's Flashback Friday .. I will never forget when I went to see them in concert when this album came out .. My mom decided to call the radio station here when they were having a contest .. and she got through and got my cousins and I tickets to the sold out concert ..

I just so happened to see one of my neighbors there and she hung out with us .. little did I know that she would have a HUGE asthma attack and we got to go backstage and while we were back there guess who we met? Yep New Edition .. They came over to see if she was ok .. Thanks Nancy for a memorable night in my childhood lol

FURX SD40-2 7934 leads a ballast train west past the searchlights at B-plant in Galesburg, IL. The searchlights are long gone, the area is now triple track, the Main St crossing in the background is now a underpass and of course power like this rarely finds the mainline.

Travel with me back to 2009. Long before mesh. A time when the ladies didn't have curves, they had corners.

Picture taken when my account was just 2 months old. A vampire since the beginning. ♥

We have come a very very long way.

Our brake van tour of Scunthorpe Steelworks was great and gave a fascinating insight to the plant and provided some amazing photo opportunities. As if that wasn't enough our hosts hooked up 4 Billet wagons and did a couple of run pasts. What a treat, and it was fantastic to see the ex industrial 0-6-0 called Cranford (Built by the Avonside Engine Company in 1924) doing what she was built to do.

I wasn't sure how to present this shot. The lighting and livery made it extremely difficult to balance.

I opted for this black and white offering as it seemed more natural and authentic.

Big thanks to the crew for accommodating us.

I remember going to Inarajan pool when I was younger. My family and I would go around the island and this would be our stopover to eat brunch. It was nice and I wanted to jump off the dive. They took out the ladder or rope to climb the jump. Darn it. Next time. Maybe I will bring a ladder with me :). My uncle was talking about how my grandpa loved going here and it was his favorite spot. I miss him so. This place is beautiful but it was hot! LOL! The place has changed after how many typhoons!

Back to studying.

Good night! Sweet dreams! :)

A pair of new Highliners cruise along South Exchange Ave. on the South Chicago Branch as they approach the 79-Cheltenham stop in July 1973.

One of the Chinese built S12 power sets number 923 departs Peradeniya with the 1025 Colombo to Badulla. She is heading north to Kandy only 6 kilometers away where she will pick up passengers and then reverse passing this same spot 30 minutes later.

This beautiful gantry is lower quadrant and reminds me of any number of gantries once found on the GWR. Peradeniya is a triangular junction with 3 signal boxes and dozens of semaphores. It is a magical place.

Can't quite believe it, but a year ago tonight was the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics… kicking off two and a half weeks of complete inspiration.

One year on I'm watching the anniversary games, and getting very excited about a certain cycle race in London next weekend.

And one year on, I re-shot possibly my most (im)famous image, coincidentally almost exactly a year since last time (july15 2012 v's July 16 2013).

I wanted to try and catch stronger light trails, hence the reason for having another go.

I got F.C.O 3 times I think on this show

Haleakala Crater. Maui, HI.

Another overlooked shot of Scott Chandler from my trip to Puerto Escondido, Mexico two years ago. This and many of the shots in this set were taken on June 19th, 2006 during an epic swell that limited the action to exclusively tow-in surfing.

This particular shot had contrast problems caused by all the mist in the air from previous waves

Reminiscing about a warm summer's morn... ~~~~~ WOW, I was shocked to find this

was #16 on Explore this morning... I guess lots of others are reminiscing, too...

Thanks to all of you who made this possible!
