Installation of Draped Spiral Light Fitting on Landing

new orleans - 02.14.19

Ted made me wear his coveralls. I felt like The Jesus from The Big Lebowski. At first it was uncomfortable.

Someone on the Miata.net forums said they did this job without dropping the muffler. SUICIDE. Drop the muffler.

Liked this shot. Fitting b/w and shadow

I forgot about this picture, from yesterday. But I went to beacon's Closet in park slope to use up the rest of my credit, and I ended up getting too fabulous pieces to add to my new wardrobe! You can kind of see one of them on the right, that black jumper! Sooo comfy and amazing!

Now as we travel down the outer isle, we proceed past the men and women's clothing sections. Here we have the fitting rooms for the store. Something that I'm happy about is that Target (at least this one) kept its neon lights through out the store.

A ghostly Keith Eiser tests the transepts to see how well they fit before trimming them down to size.

I cut up my 2x4s and was pleasantly surprised to find that they did fit the island. Now all I have to do is cut the lips the same size, and I'll be good to go.

I should probably take a minute to explain exactly what is going on here.

In a regular installation of these Ikea cabinets, the cabinets sit on adjustable legs and are bolted to the wall for a bit of extra stability (you can see the legs back in day 8). The cabinets are very heavy (once you attach all of them together and add a countertop), so securing them to the wall is just an extra piece of insurance, rather than the primary means of support.

However, since these cabinets are part of an island, there is nothing holding them down, so I need to attach them to the floor. So, rather than using the legs, I am going to put some rails on the floor, and then screw through the bottoms of the cabinets to attach them to the rails.

There are certain times of year when some people fit in better than others.

Shrink fitting using liquid nitrogen is an effective, low-cost solution for insert and piping fitting where alternative methods may be too expensive or risky.

Compared with heat fitting and force fitting, nitrogen shrink fitting is unparalleled in the advantages that it affords your business.
