In the little farm has small stream and I can see the fish clearly. So, this photo is shot in there. ^_^

A fishmonger at the "Mercado Central Atarazanas", Málaga, Andalucía, Spain. I shot the same guy about a year earlier and found him smiling ear to ear then and now. It seems he is always like that.

You just never know what is going to show up in your yard. This Fish Crow has discovered fresh running water in my fountain. The Fish Crow has a distinctive call that sounds like Ut-ah (a sound that in English would be determined as "no") and is slightly smaller than the American Crow.

"Fish" | Smile on Saturday

ok... I just made that name up. If anyone knows what it really is, please let me know in a comment. This big guy was the alpha fish in an oversized aquarium in a tourist candy factory in the Mekong Delta, so I'm pretty sure he wasn't on the menu. His job was to pose for selfies (along with the resident boa constrictor).

Clearly, I have forgotten the name of the fish. Given its black stripes on a white body, I thought best to call it the "zebra fish. My apologies to the marine world upfront.

Clearly shooting pictures of fishes in an aquarium is a tough ask. Firstly, you have to deal with a very thick layer of glass which in most cases is quite dirty owing to people's palm imprints. Second, fishes rarely stay in one place long enough to get a clean shot. Third, their direction of movement is quite unpredictable as they rarely seem to move in a straight line making it that much for difficult to preempt where they might be the next moment. Fourth, given so many moving objects at the same time, it is quite a challenge to focus on any one and the auto focus (you can safely give up on the manual focus mode) keeps hunting for focal points making it a cat and mouse game!

After a few attempts, I managed to get a clean shot.

Koi or more specifically nishiki-goi (literally "brocaded carp") are colored varieties of the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens. Adult fish reach a length of up to 100 cm. Nishiki-goi have a history of over 200 years. Their breeding is believed to have begun during the Edo period (1603–1868), when mutations of carp bred for food were noticed around the cities of Nagaoka, Ojiya and Uonuma. As a result of selection, at least 120 varieties were obtained, differing in color, size, gloss, arrangement of spots and scales.

Nishiki-goi (karp brokatowy, karp kolorowy) – ozdobna forma hodowlana karpia (Cyprinus carpio) w Japonii. Dorosłe osobniki osiągają długość do 100 cm. Mają atrakcyjne ubarwienie, hodowane są w stawach parkowych, oczkach wodnych i basenach rybnych. Popularnie nazywany koi.

Fish taken at the Toronto zoo.

A bit of fun! I saw this fish, all alone in a fish tank, in the entrance hall to Angkor National Museum in Seam Reap, Cambodia. Having visited Angkor Wat, we went to the museum to learn more about the history of temples and religions in Cambodia. I just couldn't resist taking a photograph of such a vibrantly coloured and unusual looking fish. I have no idea what it is but I spent ages trying to freeze the fish's motion to get a passable side view through the glass. I've spent less time getting shots of a single lion or leopard!!
