Top of a fire hydrant

Probably associated with the EWS located close by.

I took this in Anchorage for hot_tea. My husband (son of a Michigan firefighter) explained the flag to me, the California girl.

On my way to the Grocery store today I spotted this rusty pipe coming out of the ground.

It's connected to a Fire Hydrant. I would imagine Fire Hydrants all over have some rust on them.

I like the rocks around it. Don't know why I just do.

As a bonus some dead leaves too.

A nice change from "basic yellow" hydrants!

Located on the corner of Craig Street and Fifth AvenueCheck out my google maps page to see exactly where this hydrant is located.
