My first attempt at light painting where I try to set fire to the ballet dancer with a red glow stick. This image was my take on the Firebird Ballet

This Russian cultivar has two classic parents of Jolanda Gommer and Night Runner. This bloom was seen at the New Orleans hibiscus show. Russian Firebird is a fertile mother that produces beautiful offsprings.
1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am photographed this morning, Sept. 13, 2015 in Princeton, Illinois at the annual Homestead Festival car show. Unfortunately most of the cars were displayed hood up (bonnet for you mates in the UK :-). But of course, who would raise the hood of a Trams Am and hide Pontiac's iconic Firebird hood decal? Along with all of the illuminated dust you can see the reflection of historic Princeton's downtown Main Street skyline.
Thank you to Jlior for her photo which includes a wonderful, balletic pose. The flame-like effects and other editing really was a labour of love! Netherless much fun was had in producing this (I hope) dynamic image.
"Firebird" pays homage to the great ballets that Stravinsky composed the music for. Admittedly, the incredible choreography and music for "The Right of Spring" was more inspiring to me than "Firebird", but I think artists from all disciplines owe a debt to the creativity and bravery of these ballets.
"Metamorphosis" refers to the concept of "shape-shifting" or (the appearance of) animalistic, physical alterations that occur in dance. These concepts are important and prevalent today, although bodily transmogrification has been a concept that has always fascinated us. Indeed the animalistic and bodily aspects of dance are ways of coping with the overt incidence of new technologies and the "loss of being in touch with the body" that we experience in contemporary societies.

We spent several days visiting family in the Vancouver, BC area. Passing by this home in nearby Port Coquitlam, I just had to stop to snap a photo of this beauty poised in the rain. It's a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400.

It's easy to spot a 1967 Pontiac Firebird or its Chevrolet counterpart, the Camaro. The giveaway is the triangular shaped vent windows on the doors. By model year 1968 they were gone.

The third generation of the Pontiac Firebird was built from 1982 until 1992. It was closely related to the Chevrolet Camaro. This one has a 5.0 litre V8 engine with 209 PS. It also has a T-bar roof with detachable roof panels, an options no longer available on today's cars.
