This was my 1979 Firebird Esprit with a 301 cubic inch/4.9 litre V8 engine. When I bought it, it was battered and in need of an overhaul. It had a bare metal re-spray into Vauxhall Flame Red. The wheels were already on it, but I replaced the trims with correct ones. The rocker panel moulding in the sill was missing on the other side and I bought one in Florida and brought it back as hand luggage, though it did go in the hold, inside a long plastic water pipe! The Firebird badges are actually intended for an earlier model, but were the only ones I could get at the time. This photo was taken just before I delivered it to its new owner.

Seen on a distinctly non-convertible kind of day! Oddly, I also saw a mid-90s Mustang convertible later that morning.
