Nature has amazing ways to make us realize how small and inconsequential we really are.

I don't always use selective color, but when I do, I prefer for something to be on fire.

My sweetie and I camping in our old 92 Rockwood. (Hey it's paid for!) :)

I was put in 'THE SPOTLIGHT', a new feature here on 500 px, with INTERVIEW, check it out:

Roses from the garden. In bud, because it is windy with showers. They have lovely names, the one is a duotone: Fire and Ice, because they are a hot pink and white! They open plump and opulent but are non-fragrant. The other is Just Joey, even plumper and more blousy and with a fragrance to die for! www.youtube.com/watch?v=dssUmuw-6Qg

I again tried to photograph them in the 'style' that I love so much, a bit moody, playing with the light and dof.

Thanx, M, (*_*)

Today's theme in We're Here! is "Fire and Ice" and, well...

Long exposure on the fire fountain at Pat Obrien's Pub in New Orleans, LA looks pretty awesome...

I had a hard time with the backlit exposure on this shot, so my first attempt at it (this one) at f/22 was too underexposed for my taste, so I re-shot at f/11 and a bit slower to get the shot I had envisioned (see comments). But going through the archives, I loved the defined sunburst I achieved with the narrow aperture and thought I'd lighten it up a bit in ACR and try a warm-toned re-edit.

This was created using nothing but a few basic and calligraphic brushes in photoshop plus a few filters from the filter gallery. I made this by request for a friend earlier this year.
