Cancer Bad, Tiki Good - for Robert Silverman
We lost a kindred soul to brain cancer not long ago, but in his honor we celebrated with the same tiki spirit he carried with him. He wanted us to have a party for him and that we did, and we know he was there with us enjoying every minute. An avid theremin player, a patron of the arts and member of the arts community, and a tiki warrior, this wonderful man graced us with his smile, charm and charisma. He left us too soon, but he'll forever be in our hearts.
Cancer Bad, Tiki Good. This Tiki God may be angry at the illness befallen him, but he's wearing his beloved fez hat with spirit and courage, as a symbol of pride ready to fight back and beat the odds at any cost. And that, our dearest friend did.
I think I hear him now, gleefully playing his theremin and sipping a mai tai out there in the ether. And he's smiling and happy.
