Something we all need

You who follow my work know I rarely do a simple portrait, yet I feel that this capture of Krystal Smith that was another of her that is much too good to toss

My group was honored by Flickr as "inspiring, engaged, and worthy of a follow." Please check out the amazing work of the photographers hosted in

the Little Select Gallery of Eclectic Visual Poetry

(I hope this link works - been trying to fix it)

Out of sorts, and feeling a little put out by being ripped on a shot I posted to flickr some days ago, I had to head back to this place. It took me awhile to get over all the feelings I had about this experience, and the experience we call flickr. It can be really great, I feel I have made real friends here. For that I am extremely grateful.

It has been nice to have so many people look at my work with positive responds and that feeling is beyond words.

Sometimes I lack patience, I get frustrated, feeling like when am I gonna be able to sell something, you know.....

make the big time.

Then I look around this community, and all the obsticales that so many people have overcome, just to be able to create, and I take a deep breath, take a walk in the woods,

and feel better.

Sorry my flickr friends, I am too far behind on comments to catch up completely, but will try my best.

This time of year usually has me running, running, running.

and not the places I love, instead to the hustle and bustle which I don't.

Finding my wings

Finally, after weeks of work and a windy weekend, I decided to make a rare weekday foray down to the northern beaches this morning.

This new system is going to take some learning. The 16mpx 4/3rds sensor in the Inspires X5 was terrific for what it was and this morning showed me just how forgiving it was as well.

At 1/30th in 15km/h winds the X5 would have produced seemingly tack sharp images. Turn things up to 42mpx and suddenly there’s a little more scrutiny. This was one of the only images I came away with and even it’s not where I would have liked it to be.

A few things were at play here - ill need to really learn how to optimise the Ronin MX. The narrower DOF on the 35mm Carl Zeiss lens unquestionably inflated matters (over the 30mm equiv. on the X5) of which I could resolve with a (yet-to-be acquired) 21mm Loxia and ill need to look into how to leverage the internal stabilisation.

This thing is going to be a whole different ball game to the Inspires and Phantoms. It’s big, relatively complex with far more to consider and by no means as easy. None-the-less, the potential with so much airborne IQ is huge and it has me excited.

I did want a challenge…

I was on a hike with a friend in the Rocky Mountains. While at the top, my friend found the sun.

Wonder where is the inspiration

In between the tap dance clan

And your ballerina gang

I have come for the beekeeper

I know you want my

You want my queen

Anything but this

Can you use me instead?"

Clownfish:

Depending on the species, Clownfish are usually yellow, orange, or a reddish or blackish color, and many have white bars or patches. The largest Clownfish can reach a length of six inches.

Clownfish are found in the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, Pacific Ocean, the Great Barrier Reef, Southeast Asia, Japan, and the Indo-Malaysian region.

Clownfish typically live at the bottom of shallow seas in sheltered reefs or in shallow lagoons.

Clownfish and sea anemones have a cooperative relationship, each providing many benefits to the other. The sea anemone protects the Clownfish from predators, as well as providing food through the scraps left from the anemone's meals and occasional dead anemone tentacles, and functions as a safe nest site. In return, the Clownfish defends the anemone from its predators and parasites.

"Stay close to those who sing, tell stories, and enjoy life, and whose eyes sparkle with happiness. Because happiness is contagious and will always manage to find a solution, whereas logic can find only an explanation for the mistake made."

Paulo Coelho

"If we are not happy, if we are not peaceful, we cannot share peace and happiness with others, even those we love, those who live under the same roof. If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace."

Gertrude Jekyll

"This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life."

The ages soon pass,

Each choice branching limb to limb

– in search of balance.

Finding balance is always a challenge in life. Sometimes, we grow a bit heavy one way, a bit thin another, and sometimes our paths are chopped away completely. This was taken from the Big Oak in Thomasville, GA. The Big Oak dates back to circa 1680, which makes it one of the oldest live oaks in the country.

Wishing everyone a great day ahead. Thanks for favs and kind words. They are much appreciated.

A beautiful monarch butterfly was attracted to the goldenrod in my garden. I was lucky to see it there and capture this shot.

Have a great day folks and Happy Flyday Friday. ;o)

I'm not sure what road He is leading me down at the moment, but I know He will take care of me, so all I have to do is listen and let His love guide me and I know I will be a better person afterwards.

I surrender myself to you Lord... Amen.
