From my last trip to the plane graveyard, possibly the last time I'll get to see these old beautiful machine but lets hope theres one more in there.
Abandoned RAF Whirlwind, first shot this over 4 years and like the shackleton it's bin a good friend to my photography and i'll miss it. I wanted a longer trail but the clouds started to come in but I quite like the simplicity of this.
Enjoy

The final coal loads for the Escalante Generating Station in Prewitt cruise down around a gentle S curve near Ambrosia Lake. This scene was repeated several times a week starting in the mid-1980s, but can now never be repeated. Thanks for the memories, ESWR!

Yesterday the Emerald Isle came in and went back to the Island for their final trip of the year. Won't see her till spring. Quite a few people were down waving bye.........
With the final days of Golden Mile Complex in sight, the once bustling basement area of shops is now a pale shadow of its former self, with only one or two holdouts holding on till the very end.
As the building dating from the 1970s set to undergo redevelopment in the very near future, places and icons such as the deck area and its surroundings will be somewhat missed.
As the complex is gazetted for conservation by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) however, it will be interesting to see how the new developers will attempt to preserve elements of the building in their new vision.
I only DIDN'T study for an hour this day. That's when I took a break and took this photo.
My head HUUUUURT.
But I only have one final left and then life will be beautiful again.
Having guided train movements for almost a century, the tired B&O CPL intermediate signals light up for a nighttime eastbound at Nebraska, IN. Around 30 hours later, they would be deactivated and removed on 8/20/2025.
"Well, there it is Tom, I'm sorry it has to be this way."
"Right."
"It's just that we haven't had time to automate it, no trials and we sure as heck can't have a foul up now."
"Right." Tom fixed his gaze on the rocket ship and barely registered the laments of his friend, boss, and fellow pilot Steve. It was huge, he thought to himself, of course it had to be, it was packed with enough explosives to blow up an asteroid, or at least that was the idea....
"The controls are nearly the same as the X-4," continued Steve, "you'll get the hang of 'em in no time."
"Right."
"Just don't do any barrel rolls." His joke fell flat and Steve knew it, but what else was there to say? He's sending his best friend off to die in a machine he'd helped design, one he'd fly himself if they'd let him, but someone had to run ground here. "Mary will want for nothing Tom, the kids too, I'll see to it."
"Right, well, I gotta go ole buddy. Times a wasting and that 'stroid ain't getting any farther away."
Steve was a bit put off by being cut short but smiled and extended his hand. Tom took it but did not return the smile and then strode up the ramp tugging on his gloves.
Steve watched for a few moments trying to etch his friends heroism and final steps into his mind so that he could accurately relay this days' sacrifice to Tom's kids when they were older then he too turned away from his friend and headed for Mission Control. T minus 42 minutes....
Mostly brown or bare around here, but still a little color, which looks more saturated in the water.
Freeport Mc-Mo-Ran's copper train slides down the hill into the Arizona Eastern yard at Clifton. The AZER's rails are at road level and turn out of frame to the left, where they run south to Lordsburg. The FMI right of way clings to the hillside, climbing as high as 5% in some places abve the houses in the background until they reach the top of the hill at Morenci.
Shown after the sun has set, the Baltimore & Ohio station in Oakland, Maryland still has an Amtrak sign facing the tracks Eighteen days after this photo, Amtrak’s final Washington – Cincinnati Shenandoah will stop here, and the station will be closed.
