@ 2117 on sawtelle in west l.a. on valentines day <3 don't think the photo does it justice how perfectly this piece of meat was cooked. the potatoes were creamy and the spinach was the best i've ever had.

Tender beef grilled to perfection, served on a bed of fresh spinach and topped with mushroom ragout, caramelized shallots, accented with a red wine reduction and Mascarpone cheese beignets.

Daurade studded with fenel wood, gratineed manilla clams, Georgia coast shrimp, and white asparagus. Also present was what we think was a bit of molecular cuisine, a sweet/salty egg-like construct (seen above at left). Paired with a wonderful wine paring, the Pouilly-Fuisse, Dominique Cornin, Burgundy 2004.
Great presentation. The bordelaise was great, but the filet was also flavorful on its own. (via Foodspotting)
