A restored Mikoyan Mig-17 Fresco flying during the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was unique to see this Cold War era jet. Second time that I've ever seen one of these.

From this vantage point, it appeared that the pilot of this WW2 fighter plane had his camera sights set on the runway..... likely waiting for a plane to fill the frame.

An up-close look at the beautiful North American P-51D Mustang “Tall-In-The-Saddle” (G-SIJJ / 44-72035), resting on the grass outside the control tower at IWM Duxford.
This remarkable Mustang wears the historic “Red Tail” markings of the 332nd Fighter Group, famously known as the Tuskegee Airmen. The group was the first African-American fighter group in the U.S. Army Air Forces, and its pilots became famous for their distinctive red-tailed Mustangs.
“Tall-In-The-Saddle” is an exceptionally significant surviving Mustang, retaining genuine wartime combat history and believed to be the only airworthy Mustang associated with the 332nd Fighter Group. Even more remarkable, the aircraft is associated with Lt. Col. George Hardy, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, who flew this Mustang in combat during WWII.
In 2016, Hardy was reunited with the aircraft in Britain and even flew in it again — more than 70 years after his wartime missions. A remarkable piece of aviation history, still flying today.
B-17 Flying Fortress (G-BEDF), known as "Sally B" is the last remaining airworthy B-17 in Europe. She is based at Duxford near Cambridge, England.

Grumman FM-2 Wildcat parked at IWM Duxford with its wings folded, showcasing the iconic carrier-ready design. The folding wings allowed these compact fighters to be stowed efficiently aboard aircraft carriers, maximising space while keeping them ready for action. A classic example of US naval aviation ingenuity from World War II.
