After its operational career, this former 41 Sqn Sepecat Jaguar Gr.3 was being kept as an instructional airframe by DSAE Cosford.

It is captured here in the Canadian Memorial T2 Hangar at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, Yorkshire, England, UK.

The Royal Jordanian Falcons (صقور الأردن الملكية) are the national aerobatic demonstration team of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. They were displaying at Old Warden (The Shuttleworth Collection) on the 7th July 2019.

Spitfire AR501 is a fully airworthy Mk Vc variant from 1942, now part of the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden. It served with No. 310 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF during WWII, escorting USAAF bombers over Europe. After the war, it became a training aid before being restored to flying condition. With its classic elliptical wingtips and wartime paint scheme, AR501 remains one of the finest examples of a flying Spitfire and is a regular performer at Shuttleworth airshows.

A US Navy E/A18G Growler flying during the Growler demo at the 2025 Abbotsford Airshow. It was loud and the pilots didn't hold back. I can still hear the afterburners when I look at these shots.

The Viper performance was pretty cool. Unfortunately the cloud cover basically prevented most sharp ascents (low ceiling), but it was cool to see anyway.

Restored Supermarine Spitfire XVI (1945) and Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk (1943) at Vintage Wings of Canada in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.

The Supermarine Spitfire XVI on the left was manufactured in August 1945 at the Supermarine works of Vickers-Armstrong Ltd., England. It bears the serial number SL721 and is registered under the call sign C-GVZB. Over 22,000 Spitfires were built in nearly 30 variants during World War II.

The Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk on the right was manufactured in 1943 by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. It bears the serial number 399 and is registered under the call sign C-FVWC. Close to 14,000 Kittyhawks and their variants were built during World War II.

I want to thank fellow Flickr member, Mark Sherwood, for correcting me regarding the Kittyhawk, which I originally wrongly identified as being a Hawker Hurricane. Thank you, Mark!

29 Sq. Eurofighter Typhoon showing off its strengths and capabilities at Farnborough International Air Show 2014. You may notice that despite it have 29 on its front fins denoting that it is from 29. Squadron, it has the Roman Numeral for 30 (XXX) on the tail fin. A popular explanation for this is that when asked to paint the tail of an old RAF plane, the painter was asked to put two X's on one side of the roundel, and 1 X on the other side, however the painter interpreted that as a single X, and not IX as was meant. So, tradition dictates that 29 Sq. have XXX on their planes rather than XXIX

Well, the Sywell 2024 airshow certainly felt like a breath of fresh air for the UK airshow scene. Here is a quick edit of one of the highlights from the show - a restored First World War Fokker D.VII, disassembled and transported to the show by road all the way from Sweden, before re-assembly and a display with Stu Goldspink at the controls.

Photo taken from the deck of the USS Yorktown. The Charleston Naval base covers about 1,575 acres and was created after the Civil War to help re-vitalize the city’s damaged economy. By the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the start of World War II the navy yard was well positioned to provide first class support to the war effort. The USS Yorktown was commissioned in April 1943 and served as part of the Pacific Fleet during the war. The USS Yorktown was later used as an antisubmarine carrier in Vietnam and in 1968 was used to recover the crew of Apollo 8.

We saw not one but two fighter jets as we stopped by Father Crowley Point for the second time as we left Death Valley. Can you help identify what kind of fighter plane it is? Thanks!
