Col Bud Anderson of the famous 357th FG from WW II. Bud is a triple Ace with 16 confirmed kills and went on to have a distinguished career in the USAF retiring in the early 1970's. I highly recommend his book "To Fly and Fight, Memoirs of a Triple Ace".

My great great uncle. I think this is a Curtis JN-4 Jenny.
He flew during WW1 in SE.5a aircraft, family story is he was credited with 5 kills but I have not been able to confirm this.....honestly I doubt it as I have researched it pretty thoroughly. He did prang (crash) on a muddy field in France though.

RAF Valley on Anglesey is home to No 4 Flying Training School, responsible for training the UK's next generation of world-class fighter pilots.
Aircrew are also trained at RAF Valley for mountain and maritime operations throughout the world.
RAF Valley is also home to the Mountain Rescue Service, the military's only high readiness, all weather search and rescue, aircraft post-crash management asset.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a trans-dimensional quantum matter teleporter? Or could it be a coffee machine?

I was checking out some world war II pilot information and found some pretty some pretty scary stuff. This is out of a journal of sorts of a pilot.
When we reached the target area, we had to come in under the overcast at 4,500 feet. Everything was dark and eerie – we could see flashes of the big guns on the ground and the flak explosions in the air. Light from the exploding shells was reflecting off the clouds -- it was as if we were looking into a segment of hell.
