French Air Force display team adding a bit of colour to a very dark morning in the valleys of North Wales.
A formation of F-15C Eagles assigned to the 493rd Fighter Squadron, and an F-15E Strike Eagle assigned to the 492nd Fighter Squadron, fly over Gloucestershire, England, to attend the upcoming Royal International Air Tattoo airshow held at RAF Fairford July 7. The RAF Lakenheath aircraft will be on public display, along with many other military aircraft from around the U.K., to provide an opportunity for U.S. and military allies to showcase their capabilities. Pullip-Tography's Maiden Voyage Contest!
Your Pullip . . . your city. How does she view where she lives? What is your city best known for? How would you show someone who's not from there, what you're most proud of?
The contest will officially open February 1st.
Round one will be from February 1st - April 2nd (Yes, 2 whole months to get your shot--because winter is not pretty everywhere!). It is the Natural Beauty round. Find something that is indiginous to your city, something that shows the natural beauty of where you live, and get your best shot of your Pullip savoring it. It can be a wide shot or a tighter shot but the nature must be visible, and so must your Pullip.
Rules: More to come (it's been busy, so bear with me).
First and foremost: You must use a Pullip/Dal, that belongs to you. Please, no using someone else's doll. Pictures can only include one doll for this contest.
Second: Editing is allowed with Picnik or Photoshop, or whatever editing software you use. BUT . . . no superposition . . . or layering your pullip on artificial background/pictures she was not actually originally attached to.

There will be prizes. One, I am decided upon and I will find the rest as the next couple of weeks progress and my schedule loosens up. They will be physical prizes, sent to the winner. There will also be a virtual prize. ^_^

I can't wait to see what you all have to show! (And no, it is not required for you to actually state where you live, for privacy and safety reasons, but you may if you wish.)

Since 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week has been an annual opportunity for Northern Californians to honor the men and women serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marines. This year approximately 9,000 crewmembers on visiting ships will arrive in the City to participate in Fleet Week. They are all extraordinary individuals and this is our chance to learn about their character and skill, and to observe the pride with which they carry out their duties.

Unfortunately we lost a Blue Angel today in Smyrna near Nashville. Captain Jeff Kuss flying plane number 6. Marie and I were fortunate enough to see the Blue Angels perform three days in a row with cameras clicking. Seeing them perform always makes me proud to have served in the US Navy myself. Here are my best shots of him and the other soloist in plane 5. These pilots put their life on the line to not only defend our country but to thrill us at airshows and it's sad to lose one in a tragedy like this. May you rest in peace Cptn Kuss. You were a hell of a pilot.
