Sunflowers are blooming in some parts of the Sacramento area. This was taken at the field a few walking minutes away from my home. It's nice to have a decent spot so close to home.
These flowers were all over 5 foot tall so I had to max out the height of my tripod for this shot. Luckily there was almost no wind at all. For this particular image I thought a wide pano would work out well. I decided to leave out less of the sky so there was more emphasis on the sunflower field with a 3x1 crop.

The Pannonian Plain is a large plain in Central Europe that remained when the Pliocene Pannonian Sea dried out. It is a geomorphological subsystem of the Alps-Himalaya system.
The river Danube divides the plain roughly in half.
The plain is divided among Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
The plain is roughly bounded by the Carpathian mountains, the Alps, the Dinaric Alps and the Balkan mountains.
Although rain is not plentiful, it usually falls when necessary and the plain is a major agricultural area; it is sometimes said that these fields of rich loamy loess soil could feed the whole of Europe. For its early settlers, the plain offered few sources of metals or stone. Thus when archaeologists come upon objects of obsidian or chert, copper or gold, they have almost unparalleled opportunities to interpret ancient pathways of trade.
The precursor to the present plain was a shallow sea that reached its greatest extent during the Pliocene, when three to four kilometres of sediments were deposited.
The plain was named after the Pannonians, a northern Illyrian tribe. Various different peoples inhabited the plain during its history. In the first century BC, the eastern parts of the plain belonged to the Dacian state, and in the first century AD its western parts were subsumed into the Roman Empire. The Roman province named Pannonia was established in the area, and the city of Sirmium, today Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, became one of the four capital cities of the Roman Empire in the 3rd century.

The Constellation Cygnus - a wealth of nebulae and massive star fields with the dark lanes running from this area all the way down into Sagittarius. NGC 7000 - North America nebula - IC 5070 Pelican Nebula beside it. Lower right area is IC 1318, Gamma Cygni or Sadr is the super massive star and Barnard 348 or Norther Coalsack nearby to the left of it.

Light strike the tops of small stand of trees and forms an abstract landscape of light and shadow, frost and melt, in the Palouse on a winter morning, moments after sunrise, Steptoe Butte, Washington.

Early April 2020, the first (soft) lockdown had just been put in place here in the Netherlands. I spent quite some early mornings (but also afternoons) chasing the light on these flower fields and I'd like to believe it helped me keep, or rather regain my sanity after what had been some taxing months, for varying reasons. And while I love the look of tulips, I do tend to get a little sad thinking about the amounts of pesticides are used during the process. Unfortunately, only few fields in the Netherlands grow these the organic way. So if you're planning on buying bulbs or flowers, it's worth asking for or looking for that 'bio' label!
I took my camera for a walk as the sun was setting! This field is just a few blocks from where I live. That's Mount Timpanogos in the background!

A snapshot whilst out for an afternoon stroll. A very subtle vanishing point down the narrow field behind the gate.

I meant to do this a few weeks ago, and it had died off a bit, but the effect wasn't too bad still.
I took two images exposing for the foreground and the sky, then blended them in photoshop.
Not HDR, just a lot of work!
This was my first shot with my new Sigma 17-70mm.

Yes i have taken many shots from here in the past, Just happens to be my favourite snap stop on my way to work if the suns low or rising :-) Love the way the tree leans into the skies with the winding road
