Three counterweights on my husband's fidget spinner. The whole device forms a triangle 3" on a side, perfect for Macro Mondays!

From a couple of years ago... came up on my FB memories thing and thought, well, it ain't bad (imho).

Another shot with Toxin at Sunny's.

this is an old photo as well, probably from 2006.

Redux 2017 - Theme: Intentional Blur

Fidget spinner

Stacked Fidget Spinner

We're here playing with split toning.

Series of six. I had the opportunity to watch a falconer exercising his Peregrine on the Downs. Normally all I see of a Peregrine is a quick flash and its gone, so it was a good opportunity to get some close-ups. One day I may get the same of a wild bird. Would be nice!

Though of course there's no need to get all revved up about it.

For the first fidget spinner study I went with natural light and no flash. It was OK, but I wanted to see a bit more of the spinner so for the next study I included a flash. For this shot, I placed the little fidget spinner that measures 2 5/8 inches across on a mirror with a black throw blanket for a backdrop. Ambient natural light was all that was used for lighting. Different exposure times were selected and shot which produced varying amounts of blur to give the spinner a sense of the motion. The hardest part was spinning the thing and taking my finger off without it moving/sliding so I could keep focus on the insignia. After I processed this shot I decided to further the study and add a flash to better illuminate the spinner.

Fidget Spinner - for me useless, but not in the case you want to make some interesting colour play!

This mushroom is a hexagonal fidget toy on top of a cone shaped one.

The hexagonal one can be seen flat in theme 74 Play Of Light, in group 125 Pics in 2025 or in the photo in the first comment below.

The set up is 2.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide.

Fidget, however, possesses a plethora of mental dysfunctions, among them being several varieties of Anxiety.

A fidget spinner demonstrated by one of my granddaughters. We tried many combinations of shutter speed and spin speed with resuts that ranged from frozen to continuous blur. I liked the intermediate results best as they still show the structure of the spinner and the supporting hands.

"I asked her to stop moving around as it would ruin the shot, but she kept fidgeting around like she has some kind of teeny tiny bird brain"

Here's another Fidget Spinner abstract. To make this photo, I put a shiny fidget-spinner on a turntable under four colored lights and just let the whole thing, uh, well, spin. The exposure is five seconds long, and this causes the lights' reflections to trace the colorful geometric streaks as they zip around. The center is a reduced copy of the whole image.

A couple of weeks ago we were all fidget spinners around here, and of course, these small toys for big kids required photographic documentation. This is more or less a straight up shot however, I can envision plenty of creative photoshop shenanigans taking place with the others.

If one were to guess, they'd think that fidget was the younger one. Such is not the case.

Fidget is at least three years older than Alice, but developmental issues have slown down her maturity rate significantly.

and Stanley in the background.

Weekly theme challenge- Fidget Widget

Elizabeth begins talking and fidgeting with her scarf before she really takes a look around: “I know you’re just starting out so I brought you an exact copy of my dining table –”

She looks up to see Britney carrying towels and town President Bobby Richards and Henri Paloux there.

Britney: “Hi, Elizabeth. I’m going to take these towels upstairs, Whitney.”

Elizabeth: “Where did those come from?”

You’re supposed to need my help, Elizabeth thinks.

Whitney: “Everyone has been so nice. Henri found those towels in the other room: He said they were spare items from Room 1 that hadn’t been stored away yet. Oh, and Mr. Richards gave us access to all the unused furniture in boxes, so we also have furniture already. It’s so exciting!”

Still though, the sisters remain inseparable.

A small fidget lap quilt for my sister. Her dementia is progressing and my niece asked if I could make her a little something. The tabs are sewn down just to the zipper so she can touch and flip the around a bit. The little CANADA pillow is stuffed and only partly sewn down as well. The maple leaf is crinkly and the strings are just sewn in the middle so she can fool around with them. The other items are all different textures and the backing is flannel to keep her lap warm. I hope I will get to see her come summertime.

Predating the fidget spinner by about 50 years-- one of the coolest little objects-- I can't stop playing with this. This self timer allowed the photographer to step away from camera and into picture... just before the shutter is going to be released, the two little red-dotted "wings" pop out briefly. Absolutely brilliant.
