This wonderful sea arch is located not far outside Elgin near the small village of Portknockie. Its very easy to find if you just follow the signs.
A true wonder of nature. Here I used a slighty slow exposure to highlight the power of the waves coming in.
Next Skye workshops are in February but I am now down to the last few places
November is now full and the first February one has filled up as well.

My fiddle and bow, more precisely, readied for the next jam session. For a sample of my fiddling: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD1JD9t2Yno
I had the opportunity to shoot a high school senior who wanted photos taken with him and his horse Newt. I loved Newt and many best wishes for a great future for this young man. He is also an awesome fiddle player who played a tune for Newt.
Timing and planning is key for this location. If you go during anything but low tide your options for compositions are limited. I got up at 3am to be at this location for 4am to get this shot coordinating morning blue hour with low-ish tide.

Bow Fiddle Rock, Scotland ~ This was one of those pretty amazing experiences.. Being surrounded by incredible landscape, with no one else around.. Just me and my trusty DJI Phantom, capturing the views.. Enjoy!
Having spent an hour in a poppy field taking close-us of flowers earlier in the day I decided I had better get a grip on myself!! :). Iain had suggested we try a sunset at Bow Fiddle this weekend past as 'compensation' for another failed attempt (due to weather) to head north but again the forecast failed to inspire us. It was a last minute decision then yesterday, with some clearer skies and a need to get back to some landscape photography, to give it a go. With the rock's best aspect looking towards the east I was pleased to find at least a trace of post-sunset colours in the sky and chose a 50 second exposure to add some movement to the otherwise moody clouds.
An Impromptu visit along the Moray Coast to PortKnockie, brought a Glorious Sunrise after some Brutal Rain showers last night
Bow Fiddle Rock is a natural sea arch near Portknockie on the north-eastern coast of Scotland. It is so called because it resembles the tip of a fiddle bow.

Portknockie - Bow Fiddle Rock, a 50 ft high sea arch which sits just a short distance from the shore.
A classic scene - down at the beach at Portknockie, well, lying flat-out on a rocky boulder with the water lapping around, waves coming in breaking in front of me...
For just these two minutes the light and clouds were in just the right places.
