Cabin fever is best fought by getting out of the cabin. After our most recent blanketing of snow, my wife and I took off for a couple of hour drive through sections of wooded areas that interrupt our area's farmland. Scenes like this show there are actually a couple of reasons why living in Minnesota during the winter time isn't entirely bad.
Cabin Fever Expo is a model engineering show that I've been involved with for many years. The 2017 iteration was last weekend. This is some of the crazy junk that I brought home.

Yes! It is that time of year, where purple and pink rise high. The last couple of days the heath fever is rising, and the best way to deal with it is to just give in to it!
So last Monday I took the little bike, set the alarm very early and decided to just go! The low clouds shortly after sunrise started to disappear and the beautiful colours in the sky, the quality light created that perfect feel on the heather.

I woke up in the middle of the night shivering with a fever. I felt like hell all day long. I still do. I can't wait until we get heat in this city...I hate being cold all the time. I like this picture though...because I sat infront of a lamp for 20 minutes...it was so warm!

I woke up with a little mountain fever this morning. I looked back at a few of these Waterton scenes and I am good to go!

This is a picture of the hairy bud with the flower as background.
I was totally surprised to see poppies this early in Spring. I guess they are quite hardy, but believe it or not, it does not grow in Iceland! All parts of the papaver nudicaule are poisonous, perhaps that's what causes fever?

This one is a single 30 second exposure.
We placed a few lights on stands inside the house, and did some lightpainting around the exterior with our headlamps.
Cold, but great fun.
