It's the incorrigible, super fragrant, mega party rose - 'Mister Lincoln'.
aka 'Mr Lincoln'.
Photographed at Wahroonga Park, Wahroonga, in the rain that has dominated the summer of 2023 & 2024 here in Sydney.
So, if you want to grow a highly fragrant red rose, then 'Mister Lincoln' is for you!! And, what's more, it is a party rose that just keeps going!! Prolific blooms from early Spring (if not late winter) till late Autumn.
Introduced in 1964 and winner of the prestigious All America Rose Selection in 1965. It is my absolute favourite rose!
No hybrid tea-rose is better. But perhaps to be fair, joining 'Mister Lincoln' in the super fragrant club would be 'Papa Meilland', 'Double Delight', 'Fragrant Cloud' and 'Oklahoma'. And, of-course, they're all hybrid teas - no floribundas here, lol.

Looking for places we can walk with minimal people contact, an old rail trail seemed like a good idea. There was not much to see on an overcast day other than big open spaces and one other couple far up ahead. However, to the left beyond the fence is a wetland, where peepers were calling out loudly in a chorus of spring fever. It's amazing how much sound these tiny frogs can produce - drowning out even the road noise behind us: youtu.be/lXfmubmx-qw

This thorny bright green/yellow tree is known commonly as the Fever tree. It apparently has medicinal uses hence the name.
My youngest daughter Katelyn always wanted me to title an image "Fever". I figured this was a good spot with this fiery sunset I experienced a few weekends ago on the Mendocino Coast which seemed to last for ever.

After yet another all day rain event, the transition to colder weather with a slight dusting of snow was a welcome reprieve from cabin fever and to get out on the trail again. To catch this POV, I stood at the edge of the rock with camera/arms extended and could just make out a composition on my LCD. It took a few tries but I had a patient model.
