Previously a merchant seaman and later the United Kingdom's Poet Laureate, John Masefield lamented at his love of the sea in his poem "Sea Fever" –– This we did not know when we photographed this almost surreal scene as the sun's crepuscular rays shown down on Vardo Havn. During edit I made a wonderfully poetic discovery while researching the words "Sea Fever" painted across an entire building on the quay... The love of the earth's oceans will always call silently to mankind. Masefield was similarly stricken. That silent scream is no louder than here, hundreds of miles above the Arctic Circle in the Northeastern-most of towns in all of Norway –– where life literally comes from the sea. For those interested below are Masefield's words:
Sea Fever
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I couldn't help it, I found the disco balls on super holiday clearance. I have wanted to do this for the snails but couldn't figure out how to make it work.
The Common hawk-cuckoo also known as the brain fever bird.
This bird occurs across most of the Indian subcontinent, is arboreal and prefers wooded areas.
At first glance, you may think of it as a Shikra, a raptor, because of its markings, flight and mannerisms. This imitation intimidates other birds, giving it first dibs on the best feeding spots. It's favorite food seems to be hairy caterpillars.
The male has a loud screaming three-note call that rises to a crescendo, and repeats over and over again in a hysterical manner, mostly heard during the summer months, prior to the monsoon. This call has been decoded into various languages, depending on the listener’s culture - in North India, for example, it is interpretated as “peea kahan?”, or “where’s my lover?” uttered with increasing desperation. In the state of Maharastra, it is “paos ala”, a frantic warning that “the rains are coming”. The British, when reigning in India, concluded that this bird chanted “brain fever”.
Like many other cuckoos, this bird is a brood parasite, laying their eggs in nests of babblers.

Full Moon Fever (One of the best albums of all time)... Just shy of 53 years old is CSX 8407 seen here in work train service on a tied down W097 in the hole at Wawbeek siding. Long exposure catches a dark scene all the way into light. The EX-Chessie system motor has been on the system longer than most GE products two times over... The full moon was providing some wicked lighting through the clouds in this super long exposure. The clouds were moving fast across the night sky, and the cars were racing by at warp speed (this is an Alabama state highway ;).... The only thing not moving was the 52 year old hunk of metal that rolled out of EMD's Lagrange shops over 52 years ago.... Thanks for looking!

Cabin fever is best fought by getting out of the cabin. After our most recent blanketing of snow, my wife and I took off for a couple of hour drive through sections of wooded areas that interrupt our area's farmland. Scenes like this show there are actually a couple of reasons why living in Minnesota during the winter time isn't entirely bad.
Spring fever
Undeterred by the corona crisis, Mother Blue Tit collects nesting material. This is good because life has to go on and spring is a symbol for new life and new hope.
None of us would have thought that this virus would get out of control like this. It's a situation we don't know and there is no script that we can stick to. A relaxation of the curfew, closings of shops and schools in Germany is not in sight by April 20.th. Hold on, stay at home, because the number of new infections reported is falling too slowly.
I send a solidarity " stay healthy " around the world and my thoughts are with those who have already lost a loved one to this terrible crisis.
