Next time you see a fence like this one think three wires per post. So many post a mile. Each dug, planted, stretched and tie wired by hand.

On a fence post near birch (and Scots pine) on a threatened site in Strathspey, Scotland.

I saw this osprey clinging to a fencepost - resting? - as he faced into a 35-mph wind. (ID thanks to an online friend; I thought it was a hawk.)

A few of us saw the aftermath of a three car accident as we were leaving the rehearsal at meadowlark... this one went through a fence and was the least smashed of the vehicles

All of the fence posts along the path had ladybirds tucked into little cracks and under wire. I guess shelter is easier to come by when you are small....

A fencepost and barbed wire along a hayfield in the Nebraska Sandhills, somewhere northwest of Bartlett.

A frosty Sunday morning in Ardgowan Estate, Inverkip, Inverclyde, Scotland.

The brackets are 4"x6", and our center posts are 6"x6", so we had to cut out some notches for the brackets to fit.
