Bob having a feed. He drinks about 1/4 of his body weight every 3 or 4 days. I know he's hungry when he escapes from his tub o' leaf litter and rampages around the room
This is a series I took this morning during a visit to the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. I'd never visited the grounds before but the Pillars and Bonsai Garden were more than worth it.
Goat feeding fun at the Bronx Zoo.
You'd think the goat would be having more fun, but it's just part of another day's work at the zoo.

Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia donated 1,000 cases — that’s 12,000 packages! — of Girl Scout Cookies to Feed More on May 6. The cookies were originally destined for cookie booths, but COVID-19 and social distancing measures disrupted cookie season, so Feed More and Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia are partnering to get America’s favorite cookies to people in need. Dunmar Moving Systems volunteered to move the Thin Mints, S’mores, Lemonades and other cookies.
You can hardly tell from its size but one of these jackdaws is a fledgling, still being fed by its parents. Unfortunately I did not have time to get any closer to this family before they flew off.

I got a B&W ND filter. I have been playing around with it and this was a 6 second exposure in broad daylight.
Don't have a name for this one, but the sculpture is a woman feeding fish.

I put out peanuts on the patio outside my bedroom. Normally I enjoy him (her?) though large, floor to ceiling, glass doors. Tonight, I opened the door, lay on the floor and enjoyed the raccoon from about 6' away. Oddly enough, it seemed un-phased by the camera's flash.
For the past year, only one has been visiting, although the other evening I heard a little dispute which sounded like one was being driven off... or may the raccoon was (thank you!) driving off the skunk who also likes peanuts.
On one memorable evening a few years ago, I had three mothers with 11 young all "sharing" (not entirely amicably) a patio which is 20' x 8'. The chittering ("Hey! Mom! This is ME, one of your's, don't hit ME!") that was going on was wonderful.

Local legend has it that the stingrays began gathering in the area decades ago when fisherman would return from an excursion and navigate behind a reef into the sound and clean the fish in the calm water of the shallows and sand bar area. The fish guts were simply thrown overboard and the stingrays eventually congregated to feast on the discarded guts. Soon the stingrays began to associate the sound of a boat engine with a free meal. As this practice turned into a tradition, local divers realized that the stingrays could be fed by hand. In 1987, Skin Diver Magazine sent a reporter to do an article on this anomaly which fascinated the world.

Back to bird photography! This is one of my favorite shots of the Woodpecker feeding his chick! I took a lot of shots but this one I like the most cause the faces of the dad/daughter are showing really clear. I like the expression of the chick that enjoying the food that her father brought home for her. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day/night everyone! :)
