The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.

A Common Waxbill feeding. This species was introduced in my Country in 1968. Although I don't like the background on this one, I love the acrobatic pose the bird is making to feed. Cheers everyone.

These beautiful Cockatoo`s provided us with a lot of entertainment during our stay, we hand fed them many times and they even perched on my arm and head at one stage , we had so much fun with them.
Feeding the hungry is a greater work than raising the dead.

hope you had a relaxing weekend and wish you a good new week :)
We met a couple who regularly brought their pet Moluccan Cockatoo to Pasir Ris Park for walks. I was feeding it with grapes. It's such a magnificent looking bird.

Tough love continues to play out in my yard. At the finch feeder this time. Mama and baby girl house finch. Baby still begging food from mom while picking up the occasional seed at the same time. The baby fuzz on top of the head is hilarious. The baby is begging even with a seed already in her beak.

A very pleasant sunny day today so we spent some time at our Chinese Gardens which the city built with the help of craftsmen from China a couple of years ago.
Edit for Anna :-) A man in traditional chinese tunic was feeding pellets to the fish. Somehow I have this all the wrong way up but hope you can see the fish.

Peter and I have had much pleasure over the winter watching the small birds feeding from the meal worms we've put out for them. The robins in particular have benefited and are now like little round balls with wings.
Off to east London soon Picking up Elsie from school (yippee!) and spending the evening there. Back soon
Catching a mainline train on a branch line is always an interesting and exciting catch! Here, a long grain train bound for Foster Farms in Turlock, CA slowly rolls down the old Tidewater Southern line.

Osprey feeding her offspring. The chick has yet to fly, but I have been able to observe him jumping and flapping in preparation for the big day. Have a look:

Blue tits also like to eat insects, mealworms, waxworms, and caterpillars. They eat mixed bird seed and peanuts from hanging feeders, as well as suet pellets and suet balls
May and June are busy times for Blue Tits. With eggs to incubate and young chicks getting bigger by the day, the demand for food is constant. Whilst these months mark the end of their breeding season, Blue Tits start trying to find a partner and a suitable nest site as early as February
That winter, 1971, the ducks just would not fly south. Some blamed people feeding them. But what is one to do?!
This is a friend of mine, just happening to see this big group of ducks, but there are people who have almost made the feeding of birds their vocation.
I went here in 2008, and could not find this wooden house, the one I could see, was different.
Added to theCream of the Crop pool as most interesting.
Jesus feeding the 5,000 from Matthew 14.
Jesus: "Hey Mum, guess what? I feed a crowd on a few fish and 5 loaves today"
Mary: "Son, what were you thinking? Where were the vegies?"
Small, less known temple cramped between houses in a courtyard. It was paradise for the huge flock of pigeons surrounding. Obviously, every person visiting the temple will feed them seed. Where else will they go?
One of the Best Meerkat exhibits I have ever seen. No glass or wire cages. The kids are here at Zoo camp and they get to feed crickets to the Meerkats. Chehaw Animal Park, Albany Georgia.
A damselfly is the snack offered by a Sandhill Crane to a four day old colt. The two-day old colt is nestling in the grass on the lower left of the photo. Many thanks to Dan (from the Reifel Bird Sanctuary) for allowing us access to photograph these wonderful birds and taking the time to teach us about them.
I was waiting patiently at the bird feeder again. Not quite so long this time - only about 10 minutes this time (which still seemed like a loooong time!). This little blue tit? came over and started feeding. I'm pretty sure he noticed me but didnt seem to care too much!
